  as an adult, i rarely if ever sing anymore because i think it is a joke.

  just wanted to post that besty and i had some guests over this weekend: dncall, whoknows and dagney.

  it was a real pleasure to spend time with you - you are great people and very brave to have taken a stand and put your money where your mouth is.

  it's been very painful coming to the realisation that everything we believed in has been a fairytale and as a result of calling "emperors new clothes!

  where to go in LA area?

  hi gals and guys,.

  i noticed there are quite a few of you that reside in the la area.... so i'd like to get some feedback about where to go & what to do in the la area; i'll be taking my family there in a week!.

  our budged only allowed us to book a nice hotel in the san fernando area (sylmar) which i have noticed is on the edge of the metro area... thus i hope there are hov lanes or something to that effect to avoid the famous traffic jams.... besides from the best routes to take to get around town, my wife and i have a couple more questions on tips for the main attractions, such as disneyland, best beaches to visit, good moderate priced restaurants, celeb sightseeings (lol) and anything else that i can keep my family entertained with.. i've been to san pedro pier on one ocassion but that's about it... any feedback or tips are welcomed!.

  70 Years of Jeremiah 25:11 = 609 BCE to 539 BCE?

  bablyon defeats assyria at the battle of harran (509 bce) and then babylon is defeated 70 years later (539 bce).. in verses 11and 12, jeremiah refers to a 70-year period of judah and the surrounding nations serving the king of babylon until the king of babylon is called to account.

  although the devastations of judah, jerusalem, its temple and jewish exiles are tied to this general time period, jeremiah does not speak of these events as defining the 70 years.. society chronology aside, isn't it irrelevant when the temple was destroyed, in determining the fulfillment of jeremiah's 70-year prophecy?.

  it occurred to me that by introducing the concept of accepting blood fractions as being a conscience matter, the society has established a precedent for the disposing of other unfounded teachings.. consider, for example, birthdays:.

  on your birthday it is allowable to eat cake.

  it is allowable to light a candle or candles.

  The 144,000, a Subset of "Spiritual Israel"?

  this is an alternative to "spiritual israel" and the 144,000 being one and the same.. two scriptures might support the subset idea:.

  first, revelation 7:4-8 states that the 144,000 are "out of" the 12 symbolic tribes of "spiritual israel"--12,000 "out of" each tribe.

  this would indicate to me that "spiritual israel" is a larger body than the 144,000 (whether a literal number or not).. second, the new covenant is said to be between god and "spiritual israel," entitling its members to be children of god and brothers of christ.
