The WT Memorial is a disgrace if you really love Jesus and His sacrifice. There is nothing uplifting or loving about it. I have attended 2 memorials and both were the most boring religious ceremonies I have ever attended. Even though they don't practice Easter, I still think its their Easter and they get to don their Easter outfits. Funny, my daughters pioneer mother in law bought my grand-daughter a new dress to wear to it, very pretty and frilly, like an Easter dress. Such phonies with double standards!

The Memorial is a fraud
by truthseeker ini received my memorial invite this weekend.. the title of this tract is "keep doing this in remembrance of me".
those who are used to celebrating mass and partaking of the bread and wine could be forgiven for imagining that the same thing would happen if they accepted an invite to the memorial.. the memorial speaker tells the audience all that jesus has done for us.. this is where the fraud comes in.
he describes two flocks with two different hopes, the great crowd has the earthly hope and those of the little flock have the heavenly hope.. many of those interested ones who accepted the invitation to attend the memorial may already have the heavenly hope, but the memorial talk shuts the "kingdom of heaven" to these ones.. there is also nothing in the scriptures to indicate that jesus only allowed the little flock to partake of the emblems.. and so the audience engages in a kind of pass the parcel game, with the bread and the wine, not knowing who, if anyone is actually going to partake.

hate the memorial meeting tonight

I am sorry your family is putting so much pressure on you when you don't feel well. Maybe if you get sick you could throw up right there in your seat next to your aunt and wife. I know that sounds ugly, but the demand they are putting on you is an ugly thing for them to do.
My grandson called me last night to let me know his baseball game had been moved from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and that he won't be able to play his game because of the memorial. I said, you sound very sad, are you sad you have to miss your game and he said yes in a VERY sad voice. I told him to put mom on the phone. I asked her ( his mom, my daughter) if she would like us to take him to his game while they go to the memorial, her response was: " NO! He has a lot of baseball games, he is NOT missing the memorial for one game ".
I felt like he wanted me to rescue him so he could go to his ball game. So sad.

I passed my test!!!!!!
by mouthy inthank god ( well i know all of you wont ) but i did !!!!!!.
in canada when you reach 80 you must have written tests to see if you should still drive .
then every two years after that....i will be 82 in may so i had to go for mine today .. i was so scared as we had so much snow today,i hate driving in the snow.. all my family ( grand kids >not jws) i am sure were hoping i wouldnt pass as they all.

12 ex-JWs at church yesterday...
by passwordprotected inas reported elsewhere on the forum, there were 12 ex-jws at our baptism service yesterday.
twelve.. it was quite an experience to hear about an ex-jw who had moved to another part of the country and had written down 150 names of jws in the area of glasgow she was originally from and had started praying for all those names last summer.
two of the people on her list were at the church yesterday, with their wives and children.

I would tell her that she is being very lazy, she want's you to find something better? Well, I would respond with: " That's your problem, you want someone esle to do the research for you." Tell her she is taking the easy way, let the WT do all the searching so she doesn't have to. Their are so many interpertations of bible scripture and she just takes for granted they have it right. All thats left is to research the history and see if all they have taught over the last 100 years still holds today. As they say, the truth does not change.

Cult Mom starves son to death says shes not guilty due to Ressurection?!

the mother claims her son will be ressurected.
judge doory said if her son is ressurected the charges against her would be withdrawn.

Starving a child, just sick, cult or no cult, how can anyone do such a thing to a child. If that's what that cult is teaching, then our law should stop this nonsense. Where is the comon sense of our law's, no one in their right mind would agree with this reasoning. Makes me SICK! Same with the jw's and the blood policy. They should not be allowed to hide behind a religion that promotes this thinking. It's murder pure and simple.

I went on a Bible Study yesterday

she wanted me to join them because i was a missionary.
we told her how it is a loving arrangement.

I like the part where you told the sister that you like to tell the study about everything after all we are the truth and we have nothing to hide, how can they argue with that? Great job, and it took guts!
