The Society's influence will never diminish entirely, but it will shrink to almost inconsequential proportions as an organization. I believe that's inevitable. I think they know it.
I'm with you on that, the sooner the better for all concerned
i've just finished an article for randy over on freeminds.org, which i've submitted to him for review.
hopefully it should be online soon, so please keep checking!.
the article discusses the fact that the watch tower society is already in decline, and suggests the year 2005 as the turning point.

Finkelstein, the price of paper and ink would need to have sky-rocketed pretty dramatically to justify slashing monthly magazine printing commitments by 50% in only 7 years!
Pretty hard to make a accurate comment unless your in the printing business, I'm not.
Based upon the amount of printing those select branches usually did make on a continuing basis I would say there were
substantial costs involved.
Certainly in the more richer countries such as the States and Canada with their greater populations, there would be more money being donated
toward those branches in comparison to poorer less populated countries.

The WTS has its bean counters to be sure, perhaps those branches have been sold off because they were too much a financial burden to keep up
in maintaining staff and printing costs as well, measured against what those branches received in financial support.
If thats so, the WTS knows very well of the value of those properties where those branches were located, making for more
of an argument to sell them off and move the printing production to one of their other locations.
The WTS is well aware of moving themselves around if and when its necessary to improve the bottom line $$$ of their operations.

Could the decline in producing printed products be a result of the actual costs involved in the printing process itself ?
Of course this could be relative to where the printing is done and how much money would be coming in supporting those individual branches.
Where those branch are located and how much money ( donations ) comes toward those printing operations may have some bearing.
so far, i've been mostly ignored (in a good way)..
A lot of variables such as what sort of position (standing) the person had within the congregation ( elder, MS etc. )
If this person makes it apparent that he or she still wants to still associate with many individual JWS within a given congregation.
Being baptized or not, of course holds importance.
It much depends in how much the person wants to keep themselves involved with the organization and its following adherents.
If you leave not making much of a wave such as I did and not really wanting to maintain a relationship with the still in JWS,
your probably not going to be bothered too much .
Again it depends in how deep your in the organization that equates how strongly they go after individuals.
in 2009, they reported 118 branches.
in 2011, they reported 98 branches.
a net loss of 20 branches in 2 years.. they are selling off kingdom halls, here and there - sometimes packing several congregations into one hall where one per building was the rule.not compassionate where weather or other traveling factors could injure publishers..... and they're selling off some assembly halls, too.. brooklyn et al is being sold - and you already know about all the many cutbacks, layoffs and the downsizing of magazines.. why?.
The con game they've been pushing toward the public for so many years now is coming into the publics awareness from outside the organization as well
from the inside. The game now is to watch over their members with even more scrutiny to watch for dissenters who might tip the boat over,
making them relinquish their power, control and money.
The inter-net with its easy access to information may in part be responsible for spoiling some of the party for the WTS. and its adverse corruption.
(this recent forum post about a letter of disassociation encouraged me to post this new topic.
it's been sitting in my drafts folder for a little while, but now is as good a time as any.).
my suggestion would be, try not to go down the route of disassociation.
I would have to partially go long with what Rory has stated in regards to just simply fading away out of organization.
but that suggestion comes with a great amount of variables dependent upon how deep that person was involved with the organization,
its obvious to see that he himself was quite deep in the organization at one point in time.
1. There is no scriptural precedent for you cutting off your association.
Really ? so all the direction and guidance spoken about even by Jesus to avoid and do not associate oneself with false prophets has no bearing,
which does have scriptural support if to be questioned ? Taken from a dedicated Christian viewpoint .
This organization has been nothing but apostasy against true Christianity, mostly due to designed doctrines to proliferate its
own published works as a publishing house.
I had a good laugh reading from the Elders book ....
Deliberately spreading teachings contrary to Bible truth as taught by Jehovah's Witnesses: (Acts 21:21, ftn.; 2 John 7, 9, 10)
The big and obvious problem is that the WTS./JWS do not teach bible truths, there are some to be noted but very little.
The WTS. has been a over flowing basket of corruption since its beginning over a century ago.
Superimposing said bible truths which were really commercialized doctrines to appeal toward the public eyes and ears.
Its certainly a big organization now with its supporting members and its money but that actually exemplifies its own corruption of what it is.
Every proclamation they state is wholly and biasly stated to support themselves even to the point of out right blatantly lying.
Power is everything to organizations like this so its not surprising they have tactics to cultivate that power as well to have
protectionary policies to protect that power of which they have acquired.
If they take steps upon one of its members (DF, DA) and that results in a dismantling a family apart, they just apathetically don't care
for its their power they are trying to protect and vilify. Sadly and unfortunately this arrangement by the WTS. has pushed some people to
go as far as to commit suicide due to the overwhelming amount of personal strife and stress.
They will twist the whole affair around stating that they have cast judgment upon that individual and are punishing them for their own good.
For this reason among the many it should be realized that the best possible advise to give anyone is simply not to get involved with religious cults like this
in the first place, in spite of the alluring tactics they make openly toward the public.
to the body of elders in xxxxx.. .
i no longer wish to recognised as one of the jehovah's witnesses due to the fact that i no longer believe that this 'organisation' is truly representing him because :.
i have experienced greater and unconditional love/friendship with the people i am supposed to hate 'worldly people' than i did in this congregation.
Pretty good letter I think, you might want to mention that you've come to realize that the true gospel of the bible and its direction toward its
preaching work is not what has been taught by the WTS. which has been an adulterated and aggressive commercialized version entailed with
much corruption.
I like the way you've taken on your personal initiative to stand your ground and express you thoughts in a perfectly clear and honest manner.
so the oldest man in the world, a japanese, has just celebrated his 115 birthday.. i was reading the other day that life expectancy in my country is around 78.2 today,.
that half the people born since 2000 are expected to see 100 years old, and that.
the first person that will live to 150 years old, is already alive.. so how long would you like to live?.
Until my death
Power and a uplift in personal stature in a social environment.
When men become elders they actually think they are getting closer to the power god.
Most religions have a power structure framed within themselves.
Now you know what drives the men who sit as GB members, add the luring capability of handing hundreds millions of dollars.
God is power and money.
