  people get depressed for various reasons.

  but do you know of people that actually suffered from depression mainly because they were witnesses?.

  i know of more than a few witnesses that were always discouraged and feeling down.

  Observations about dubs as people...

  i was thinking back on some of the people i knew growing up, as well as my own family - many of whom are dubs... tell me what your own experiences are of these kind of people, did you notice a large prevalence of these types of people in the congs you attended:.

  1. health nuts: into all sorts of alternative health theories like iridology, reflexology, homeopathy etc?

  2. get rich quick folk: always getting involved in this scheme or that, this business or that - especially pyramid type things?.

  Hobbies post Witness-still feel guilty about the time and expense involved?

  my dear wife says she has a hard time investing time and money towards hobbies.

  my wife was born in to the organization.

  she says she still has a difficult time not feeling guilty about activities that would take one away from the preaching work, even though she has made her exit from the organization a long time ago.

  I prefer to pronounce the name as Yehowah. In my prayers I refer to my creator as: my Father. I don't refer to my parents by their first name, so why should I use the name of my heavenly parent to address him. I am a son of God, just as the rest of humanity is.

  today, at a park restaurant, this old lady saw a young fat lady walking past and started making fun of her with her friends.

  the fat young lady saw this and i could see the look of hurt on her face.

  i couldn't help myself, i got up went to the old lady and told her she was being hurtful and childish considering her age, and she should grow up!

  suffice it to say, i was born into "the truth," attempted suicide at 14, "lost my faith" at this time, beat into submission into carrying on as usual, endured a horrible marriage and equally horrible divorce, and am more or less still in it (appearances only!

  Where to begin???? How many times a week would you meet together? Why would you meet together? What activities would your congregation be involved in? Why have a congregation at all? Lets raise many questions, then we can look for scriptural answers, and/or use our power of reason to come up with reasonable responses. This is not for starting any new cults.

  Stupid Knorr! Should Witnesses have Sunday school just for kids?

  imagine sitting thru the watchtower study on a sunday with your 6 year old and 9 year old kids....the topic "fornication" the discussion explains how oral sex and touching of genitals is still fornication...why do kids have to sit thru this??

  or the bible reading is about lot having sex with his daughters....this type of thing is not for kids!

  and why should kids be forced to sit quietly while someone drones on for 2 hours?.

  Makes sense to have some topics reserved for an older audience. Children shouldn't have to sit through some of those more adult discussions at the hall.
