Married, but....

today is valentine's day...a day to share with your partner.

today is bittersweet for me.. my husband is a wonderful man....intelligent, a gifted musician, kind, handsome....and an alcoholic.

he spent the day drinking, and i spent my valentine's day evening eating supper alone in front of the tv.. tomorrow is my birthday.

i think the appearance of the now infamous danielle gives us reason for pause.

i admit that at first i took her at face value which is what we are all supposed to do.

Don't feel like you lost with Gloria. I remember when I was first bombarded with anti-JW truths. I thought the demons were out to get me. But I now realize seeds of pure freedom were planted. I think anyone who considers themself a JW and find their way to a DB such as this, they are not very comfortable with their beliefs. Because if you just think about it, if you are in an ideal marriage or relationship, would you visit the personal ads.

Being a Homecoming Queen is also creature worship. I will be going to my 15 yr. Class Reunion this year and guess what I'm remembered for. The girl who refused her appointment as Homecoming Queen. the girl who was as fast as Flo Jo, but could not participate in Track. The girl whose parents allowed her to be President over her vocational class membership, but to later step down, because some JW in her class told that I took an oath (which I purposedly did not tell my parents).

So you can sum this all up that being a JW Kid is HORRIBLE. I think it's a punishment fit for Juvenile Deliquents.

When I'm ask the questions about why I stepped down from Homecoming Queen, track, etc. at my Class Reunion. I will be happy to reply - "Because my Parents belonged to a Cult - The Jehovah's Witnesses". L

I don't know much about obeying God's command as far as drinking the wine. But I would love to bring my family and all the friends that I can to the memorial so we could partake of the wine and those little crackers. You know how quiet it is when they pass those emblems, well, I can hear the gasps and throat clearing now.

My point above "REALLY" stands now. You are not as far from the JW mindset as you think. I don't consider myself foolish and why you must resort to such name calling, I don't know, nor care.

Personally I find your post to be interesting, but some details as Waiting mentioned, (your degrees, money, etc.) I did not follow the purpose of mentioning them (but I feel it's what you want to share, so fine). And I don't take offense to your warning or suggestions (because it seem to be your style).

And the bones analogy went right pass me.

I do apologize if my post seemed a little harsh, but I couldn't help but to express myself (you seem to think it is alright for you to do the same).

Hey all,

I'm an elder's daughter, with a outspoken mother, one disfellowshipped sister, one active looking to reform sister, one brother who is a pentacostal minister and one brother who don't give a poop (I'm really trying to make a point and being a little facetious at the same time). I think these descriptions help others to relate and REMEMBER there are new people lurking everyday. I know I'm fairly new and reminders of others experience is a great healing for me.

And I often refer to myself as being RAW (Raised a Witless).

And also, I think LDH means well. I have been warned or given SUGGESTIONS as to how I should conduct myself from her. Remember we still have some of that JW blood running through our bodies and it sometime clots around the brain. As they say you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. So she sometimes may still think, she must TELL us how to speak, think, conduct ourselves.

what you are likely to find is a wide spectrum of different personalities, with the common thread of having some interest in the wbts.

what you will not find is the kind of structured, controlled environment of the kingdom hall, where many of the subjects that could be discussed here would never be raised.

You are not FOR REAL? Are you? Well I have been on alot of non-sexual dates. But, I guess each person, know what they can handle. I just find it not necessary to neck or whatever you mentioned, to enjoy the company of the opposite sex.

And if you are FOR REAL. You are TOO FUNNY.

My advice to you in reference to marriage - DATE, DATE, DATE, AND DATE again. I think first getting to know yourself, they dating as many people as you can to know what you REALLY enjoy. And I'm not talking about sex, but good healthy dating. I know tons of unhappy married JW couples. I think they are unhappy, because they were forced to marry the first person that they thought they liked.
