Simon...you have to give respect in order to receive it. And not just in this post..I have been reading this site almost since the beginning and the last year has been very tough to read.

And both sides have some points. But being a gun owner carrys lots of responsibility....And GZ should not be allowed that right.

And unless you have been black in America...you probably will not understand the pain of this situation or do not care. That's ok

But if you want respect you must give it.

I just thank God (yes I believe in GOD)...that I'm no longer a JW and I'm a BLACK American that can protest, vote, Send 3 BLACK men through college (and yes one is an Attorney). And we will continue to fight for our right to NOT BE HARRASSED in our AFFLUENT Community. For my Sons and husband to able to fertilze our yard, without an ASS asking if they can hire them. That my Husband can DRIVE a Mercedes and NOT GET pulled over and asked WHY HE DRIVE SUCH A NICE CAR!!! That I can shop in Nordstrom with being following by the security.

AND LAST AND NOT LEAST...that my KIDS can WEAR A HOOD over their HEAD IN THE FREAKING RAIN...WITHOUT someone deciding to following them, call 911, because you see someone walking (NOT BREAKING INTO A CAR, BREAKING INTO A HOUSE...BUT WALKING).

Rattigan350... why is wearing a hoodie a black thing...WOW...do you really know that is what caused this issue RACIAL PROFILING. He assummed this youngman was up to no good because he was wearing a clothing garment. If this kid was trying to get into a car or house...but just walking home in the rain with a hood over your head...PLEASE

And they are not out causing problems...they exercising their RIGHT as Americans to PROTEST..

All I can say about reading some of the comments on this exJW board is that I'm glad I no longer have to pretend to enjoy people that I often find repulsive.

And WOW!!! Simon is the biggest surprise...But to each their OWN.

Entirely Possible...I have read your post and rarely agree...but I agree 100%...yes is not guilty as per the law...but yes he is 100% responsible....and he will nevery have peace in the realm.

And Simon...I'm just disgusted with your vile responses...everything you ask other not to do....WOW just WOW...You must really be going through something.

Family is drawing the line in the sand

so my family has obviously been noticing over the past several months that i've been missing meetings and fs.

i've had excuses sometimes, but not others, so my parents are definitely getting that this is more than a long bout of illnesses or fatigue.

i just received an email invitation to join them in service this weekend.

it's basically a guilt trip.

It's only a gult trip...if you decide to ride.

I always remember this...how you feel about me, is not my problem. So start by taking power of your destiny. I would either choose not to reply or reply, thank for the invite and thinking about me, but I have other plans for this time. Love Ya and talk with you soon.

I have successfully faded for 13 years and the one thing that has helped is setting boundaries...not with just JW's...but with everyone. I control my life, and no religion, family, kids, grandkids, friends or associates can infringe upon what is best for me, no matter what their intentions.

JW's usually mean well....but NO is NO and when someone is not listening to your request, it's bordering on abuse. Lots of therapy taught me this.

well first i want to thank everyone here for the good points etc... i have received over the last few months.

you guys have really been helpful!.

so the other day my mother wrote me a 3 page letter telling me how she was so scared for me because she could tell my love for the truth was gone etc.. so i decided i wanted to totally rip the band-aid off and get this matter over and done with.

Jehovah Witnesses do alot of things wrong...but going to the Dr. and practicing a vegan diet is not one or malnourshing their children is not One.

Also, being vegan or vegetarian...did not cause this. Because the baby could have lived off of Soy Baby Formula alone and not be malnourished. This is JUST PLAIN OL PISS POOR PARENTING!!! PERIOD!!!

This is the current theory I have that I went through with my friend last night. That God is using the JW’s but only to do one thing, the Kingdom preaching work. The rest is all made up. All of the rest is the interpretations of men. He tolerates them as they they’re doing the one thing he wants: t he kingdom preaching work

Please explain...because what I understand...they are not preaching the Gospel of Jesus Chritst...but are in the work of converting people to the WTBS.

What do you see them preaching?

Should I send this letter to my non-JW cousin who refuses to listen to ANY criticism of our JW relatives?

How about not telling the non JW nothing about JW...or at least about the other relatives. Do you really know how the feel about their faith? (remember you starting out doubting without openly expressing your feelings.

The only thing you can discuss honestly is why you discontinued your belief in the religion.

As many stated above...many non JW believe all religions are of God...you just choose a different way of expressing your worship.

The best way to show your non JW and JW relatives that the WTBS is a lie is by living well...that's the best way to let them know.

I celebrated my daughters birthday for the first time...

it wasn't anything big, but its all she ever talks about in front of all my family!!!

i mean, she talks about it almost every single frigging day.

Happy Birthday to your daughter.

I remember blowing out my first birthday candles at age 22 (it was wonderful)!!!

And when I let my children have their first birhtdays ages 3 and 8...I cried like a baby...because they were so happy.

We celebrate all of the holidays...but the most precious is our birthdays.

I feel sorry for the JW...this is one thing that is very special....celebrating LIFE!!!! This really should be the first reason to leave the cult...not celebrating your LIFE!!!!

Advice please - How dating works in world?

looking for your advice.

i was born in 'the truth', homeschooled, washed windows for work, etc.. im rather ignorant of how the whole dating thing works.. .

i'm sure i'm not the only person on here who grew up 'in the truth' and is/was a virgin in their late 20s, never been to a nightclub, etc., while everyone around them has a family/kids.

If you don't have secondary education. Go to school...there are lots of young ladies. College is the best place to meet young interesting people.
