  The Australian Royal Commission hearings on the JWs handling of child abuse begins here in the US later today. It will be streamed.

  the royal commission hearing starting on monday, july 27, 2015 - australian day and date - (and it could go on until august 7th depending on how many witnesses testify) regarding jehovah's witnesses handling of child abuse is supposed to be streamed.. it could be that the hearing will only be audio not video although we were informed it will be streamed.

  we'll find out in a few hours.. i live in the central time zone of the us and right now here it is sunday, 3: 45 pm.

  in sydney, australia, it is 15 hours ahead of us.

  just in case you didn't know, must have missed a thread because i didn't until i found it on google this morning, there is to be a public hearing about child abuse in jw organization in australia, starting 27th july, should be revealing.

  "It disgusts me on how cheap Bethel is. This was 20 years ago, but when I was there as a temporary construction worker I got sick with a bad cold. I went to a little pharmacy place they had at Bethel to get some cold medicine. I got there and they said to get 2 cold pills it would cost $.25, yes that's really cheap, but I didn't have any money on me and they refused to give it to me if I didn't pay for it. I was so distraught. Here I was a pioneer, MS, just spent hundreds of dollars to fly to NY on my own, the day before I donated $5 at one of their recreation room donation boxes to play some pool, and here they wouldn't help me when I was very ill just because I didn't have a damn quarter! UGH!" - CleanIdeas

  Gobsmacked! What on earth happened to "keep on seeking the kingdom first and its righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you?"

  I would have thought that going to Bethel was "putting the Kingdom first." "Keep on seeking the kingdom first" must be just a platitude.

  i commented on this on another thread- but i believe this has enough importance to create a thread about this situation in and of itself.

  at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.

  they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

  I"m looking forward to seeing the next video from the GB where they explain how a toddler develops the conscience of a teenager or adult.

  The GB know nothing about child psychology. They are out of touch with reality.

  I'd also like to see the GB make a video explaining how parents and elders can report a case of molestation to the authorities. There would be more to it than just making the monster disappear.

  For a long time, I thought that the ban on blood transfusions came about because it was an offshoot from the days when vaccinations were banned i.e. they contained blood serum and were considered to be "unclean" and I figured that maybe transfusions were put into this same category.

  But I can see from the research presented here that the matter is much more complicated than that. You learn something new everyday.

  Fun at The WT This Morning

  so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.

  14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".

  after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".

  Ran into some JW's.......but this time I did the teaching ;) x

  so i went out today with my broken leg and got accosted by an old lady, with some magazines.. it was my first ever encounter with a jw in ten years, and i had said 'i know you are jw's, i'm not interested thank you.

  " twice.....then she started talking about my broken leg and how wonderful we are made and how amazing the healing process is.... and that's when it all started...."i used to be a bethelite pioneer, now i'm an atheist doctor...".

  she was with me a good 30 mins, her elder husband left very annoyed but she stayed, and she was dying to hear everything i spurted out, despite aggressively defending every point, from military engines to paedophilia.
