Welcome JC101
Good advice from everyone. Listen ChiChi to all this good advice and my best to you on the first days of the rest of your life.
although we all know that there are many disadvantages of being brought up ( vomit sound) in the truth.
but would you say that leaving has maybe caused you to do some things that you would not have normally have done in life ?
for me personally now i have lots of free time ( mine all mine, evil laugh) i have almost finished my first novel.
This might not be what you meant but....I decorate my porch with the 4 seasons. Tastefully of course. i remember when I used to go dorp a door (a spanish sister called it that :), it took away the boredom to see how some "householders" would design their entry.
I'm not sure that I would have done this normally, although I like landscape planning so who knows.
writing and speaking is all about communication.. if we are casually engaged the level of precision vanishes.
simple ideas=simplified language.. but, as we attempt to convey accuracy, specificity and numerical precision--what then?
without a clear standard is proper communication headed for extinction?.
hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.
it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .
its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .
This is a really good article that I first read albeit a little too late because we did the fast forward exit. It's titled How I Helped my Family to Leave Jehovah's Witnesses. Maybe someone will make it clickable.
i am still new to the business of fading and once i stop attending the memorial with all the dubs around me, my former friends will definitly put my shepherding call on hold.
i am sure some of the friends faded quick and never turn their back toward the kingdom hall again.
i am curious if others took a longer approach to fading and dropping off completly.
I began my fade at the end of the year 2007. I have not attended since. They know we aren't going back and so far have left us alone. A few visits by the elder who feels responsible for us leaving. A couple visits by well meaning r&f members. I could never walk in a kh again.
You have my support. It's a lonely job. Do your best and don't worry about the rest. I'm glad you stop to notice the birds.
who would you most like to meet from this board and why?.
i would love to by danmera dinner.
she rocks!.
Hortensia, It would be a unique experience to be able to do that trip with you, or maybe meet up in the UK. I'd like to meet those British folks too. One of my goals is to see Ireland. I'd have to do that if I got over there. Who knows? It could happen.

i'm curious as to what drives some people to post at certain boards.. for me, i first came here over a year ago thinking this was a pro-jw site, ready to jump on the dubs.
lol.
little did i know.... i posted here exclusively for a while, but then found that the repetitive topics became tedious.
Although I don't contribute too much I come here daily just to see whats new, kind of like skimming the newspaper. I sympathize, admire, commiserate and cheer with everyones lives. We've gone through too much and it's just something that's become part of my life. There are days or even weeks (occasionally) where I might not check in. I figure this is the best place to find out how close we're getting to watching the Watch Tower lose its control.
