This is funny. Would make a good tract to give JW's when they come to your door.

what to do when you have a crazy friend?
by losingit init's hard for me to start this topic bc i feel like i'm being judgmental, a quality i don't like in others and one i try to stay away from as much as possible.
i really do try to be an understanding, caring person.
i essentially believe that all people are good and i am shocked to my core when i am betrayed.

This will only get worse. She hasn't taken any of your advice. She won't. Backing out of this relationship is the only way to go. Tell her the truth, that she's on a dead end road and she needs to get some professional help because you can't help her. I would tell her this asap, before her parents kick her out and she is knocking on your door.

abusive stepfather who was one of the original jws in the area, so much so, that it was called the xxxxx family religion.... been out for 25 years, am glad every day for that!!.

An important difference between atheists and true believers
by Hortensia intrue believers, whether christian, muslim or whatever, want to convert you, they want you to believe what they do, and they're willing to go to extremes to make it happen.
atheists don't really care what you believe, and don't go out of their way to convert someone.. http://ow.ly/vn1jz an example of what believers in power do to suppress any difference in thought.
http://ow.ly/vraeo an example of why believers want to suppress different ideas (because they can't win in a fair fight, that's why).

This is from a book interview I heard on NPR recently. I thought it was good and goes along with your thinking Hortensia.
"Belief" is intellectual surrender. Why believe when you can know?
"Faith" is a state of willed self-delusion...
...but experience...empirical experience, requires an open mind.

the mentality of a convert vs mentality of a born in?
I think the exit process is different for different people. There are some fine people who were born in and don't behave recklessly. It sounds like your husband comes from the mold that is out for himself first and formost. He probably had more growing up to do and got married to soon. That happens a lot.

A farce elder here
by His Excellency injust to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

I don't believe you. Jgnat called you out as a plagiarist when you told your story a year ago and she provided proof.

What is the difference between an active JW and a successful FORMER JW?
by Terry inpassionate enthusiasm (where is yours?).
active jw's are pushing the end times boulder up the mountain day after day with an imaginary goal of paradise for their efforts.
the prophetic dates roll over them and crush them again and again.

This is good Terry. It's a positive affirmation. We need to put positive words into our heads to replace the old ones and that old pumpkin head has lots of room.

The Dilaudid Delusion

When my brother, who is a recovered addict now for about 35 years, underwent surgery he always asked a family member to be in charge of handing out the drugs.
I think you should be involved with either your doctor or someone to assist you through this. Is this possible for you?
