I think the doctor in the video above was being facetious about the fat going immediately into your blood. However, it does build up over time.
And, thanks jaguarbass for the link, that is an interesting video.
i watched a 2011 documentary called "forks over knives".
it disucusses the link between our diet and disease.
both dr. oz & dr. gupta had positive things to say about it.

That video is outstanding. It made me look for more on the subject.
Here are some more excellent documentaries on Netflix I found worth watching -
Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead The Gerson Miracle Food, Inc. Food Matters The Future of Food
Several months ago Dr Oz had T. Colin Campbell, PhD on his show. I was so interested I bought his book, The China Study. Also bought Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr.'s book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. I am now reading about the Gerson Therapy. To think Dr. Gerson testified before congress before I was born and he was silenced. I'm just now finding out all this stuff we should have known for 60+ years.the 2nd president of the watchtower bible and tract society, j.f.rutherford was criticised by some elders in the (then) independant congregations for urging members to go door to door while neglecting to do so himself.
rutherford responded:.
frequently some elder says: the president of the society does not go from house to house selling books.
Only if you are very old and unable physically.
Last couple times I was at my mom's house she had all the literature laid out on her very large coffee table in the living room. Reminded me of a display in a store. I guess that is her way of doing incidental witnessing in case some non-JW came by and if the elders or other JWs stop by then she looks very faithful.
i was talking to one of my jw ex-friends today (we keep in contact every once in a while) and she was all excited telling me about the new arregment, a special meeting only for elders, their wives, pioneers and other sheep of "exemplary" conduct... (of course she was invited)..... something about one meeting from bethel that is going to be broadcasted to everyone at assembly halls and translated via radio for those who cannot speak english... is by invitation only (and they are "being discreet w the invitations to avoid offend the ones not invited") and they even gave them tickets they have to present at the door..... anyone has the scoop??
?.
This must have something to do with the extra special meeting mom had to go to Monday night. Maybe she was hoping for a ticket since she has brought so many people into the Lie during her lifetime.
She even cancelled our day trip to see her 91 yr old sister that she hasn't seen in months so she could make sure to get to the meeting Monday night.
i know this was not opening up for other about: (hope works this time)transcript of annual meeting notes and events from unknown source by itsibitsybrainbutbigenoughtosmellarattoday, october 12, 2011, 4 hours ago .

the meeting began with the singing of song #28 the new song followed by the opening prayer.
Thanks for posting this Gayle. I tried to open the other one last night and it never did come up.
i'm pleased to announce that despite some considerable teething troubles (of which many of you will be aware!
), the 2011 survey of jws is back on the road!
there is no need for any donations, so none will be asked for in any way, shape or form.
Thanks for the response cedars. For the 2012 I will tick Inactive on the survey since I never officially disassociated.
This is so interesting seeing the results and the comments. Thank you for all the hard work. We really do appreciate you.

in 1940 several in our congregation rented.
were you guys "Preaching" from age five, LOL?
Ditto to St George.
My parents were pioneering when they got married and I was born 9 1/2 mos later (1948). I heard the stories they told of being in service when I was too young to remember. When I was about 5, I was knocking on the doors inside the house practicing door to door work.
When I got a little older I learned to truly hate field circus - always tried to pick the houses that looked like no one was home.

Diest said, "Id rather a slot for faders rather than click inactive."
I agree - I am also a fader and did not know where to put myself so checked Disassociated.
I guess fader is an 'informal' DA? After being out 30 yrs, I don't think Inactive applies to me.
this explanation is extracted from the reasoning book, page 205. .
jesus foretold for our day this work: this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
he also instructed his followers: go .
One Saturday morning not long ago I was working in the yard. I came around the end of the house toward the front and saw a pickup truck in the driveway. I walked on around further and saw two young men at the front door. While working I had been thinking about politics and the people running for office and automatically thought they were working for some politicians.
They handed me a one page leaflet and said they were inviting everyone to a meeting in the area. Still thought it was about politics. They turned and left and I looked closer at the paper and realized it was for a JW assembly over an hour's drive away.
Point is, they were not preaching any good news about anything. Just handed me the invitation and poof they were gone.
news 88 new york reported this morning somebody named larry mckelvey, did not stand for national anthem; 3 guys tried to rough him up and he blasted them with stun gun at sunday's jets-cowboys game.
.
"I thought standing respectfully without singing was acceptable?"
I always understood when I was in school that standing respectfully was only allowed for the pledge of allegiance.
For the national anthem we were required to stay seated. Unless of course you were smart enough to already be standing somewhere before the anthem started. You could remain standing if you already were.
