If Kendrick is ordered to pay 60% of the $7M, that means the WTS is only responsible for 40%. 27% for the WTS and since they insure the Kingdom Halls, they would also have to pay the 13% against the congregation.
So, really the Society would only be responsible for $2,800,000. Am I reading this right?
Of course now, hopefully, they'll have to pay a lot more on the punitive damages.

The picture I saw of him on TV he was wearing an ear ring in both ears. Also the article I read said the neighbors would see him sitting on the porch smoking. After those two things I seriously doubted he was a JW. Perhaps some of his family was attending some meetings.

she might have to undergo gallbladder surgery.
i'm worried for her (about the blood issues)and have made that known.
My nephew is in medical school to be a doctor. A couple weeks ago he told me about a book he is reading - The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse by Andreas Moritz. I just finished it today.
It's an easy read and explains how the liver and gallbladder stones can clog up your body - AND how to get rid of them without surgery.
If your friend has not yet had the gallbladder surgery please get her to read this book before she does. It will help her make a more informed decision.

and it has been quite a long time since i've really spent any serious time studying up on jw news and doctrines although i do still read here occasionally.
but after today looks like i've got some work to do.. my first sergeant called me this morning asking for my help to fix his dad's truck as i'm an auto technician in my civilian job.
As I understand it, the WTS was not a breakaway group of the 7th Day Adventists.
It was the Adventists or the Second Adventists - but not the 7th Day Adventists.

When I moved to Phoenix AZ from Georgia I went into a Lowes. Came in the back door and they had no 'buggies' so I walked through the store. When I got near the service desk the lady asked if she could help me. I said Yes, I need to get a buggy. She looked at me like I was from outer space. Once she finally understood what I needed, she called over to a man at a cash register that was not busy and asked him to get me a shopping cart.
He looked at her like she was from outer space. I spoke up and said, "buggy". He knew exactly what I needed. Turns out he was from Georgia too and had no idea what a shopping cart was. We had a good laugh over that.
I always preferred Del Tacos here in Georgia. Taco Bell took over more all of them several years ago. I quit going to Taco Bell when they had the deal about the meat wasn't really meat but just filler. The food was tasty even if it wasn't meat.
i'm scanning through some of the results from the 2012 jw survey as they're coming in.. the most populous of the six voting categories with 76 voters so far is my own category, for those who are inactive, or "faded/fading" (not disfellowshipped or da'd, but no longer reporting time on the ministry).. one statistic already leaping out at me surrounds the question "do you experience 'pre-emptive shunning' from active witnesses, who view you as 'bad association'?
" of the 74 who voted on this so far, 76% have answered "yes" to this question.. it's early days, and obviously i will have a clearer picture of the extent of the problem once the survey closes at the end of the year.
however, the results already in suggest that pre-emptive shunning is widespread among inactive ones, despite this not being an "official" policy of the society.. i was interested in your opinions as to why this may be?
My experience has been mostly no shunning. As a matter of fact I had lunch last week with my brother who is now an elder. Since moving back closer to family I have met him for lunch 3 times and he is very nice to me and the few times I spoke to him on the phone when we finished the conversation he said 'love you'. I was rather shocked at that as he and I had never been really close.
He is married to a convert who is now a pioneer. My sister in law was the instigator to start a shunning campaign against me back about 20+ years ago. At the time I had been inactive several years and had allowed a boyfriend to move in with me. Because of the BF she got the whole family to shun me. That was near my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. She and my JW sister threw a big party for them and I was specifically not invited. The invitation came addressed to my son and daughter only.
Once I broke up with the boyfriend and he moved out they started talking to me again. Very weird. To this day she is friendly at times and was especially helpful when my dad was sick and passed. A few yrs ago I received an email from her saying their daughter (Bethelite) had told her she was going to have a baby in 3 years. I wrote her back and said that means they will have to leave Bethel. Will they be moving to this area or out west where his Mormon family lives. She never answered so I don't know if she was shunning or at a loss of words once she realized her daughter would have to leave Bethel. Nothing else said about them having grandbabies. I just keep my distance from her most of the time.
One of my younger sisters was DF as a teenager and has been living with mom since shortly after dad died about 3 yrs ago. Mom has never shunned her even though she has 5 kids with a few different guys and is 50 yrs old now. She did a lot of drugs and taught her kids that drugs are fine. Most of them are on welfare and on drugs now.
Even my JW sister does not shun the DF sister. She also does not shun me but did ask me if I was dating. Guess if she thought I was having sex she would have to shun me again. : )

I was scheduled for gall bladder surgery several years ago but cancelled the surgery after hearing from friends/co-workers how removing it can cause problems controlling your bowels. My mother has had that problem ever since her surgery years ago.
There were two times when I was hurting pretty bad and ended up driving myself to the emergency room the second time. They immediately checked to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack. After ruling that out they left me in the ER for an hour or so. By the time they finally took me to a room the stone had moved or whatever it does and I was fine. They tried to give me pain meds but by then I didn't need it and ended up driving myself back home. In that case it could have been brought on by eating too much ice cream. That is one thing I read that will trigger the 'attacks'.
I found instructions on the internet how to flush gall stones out and it worked for me. Since doing the flush, I have had no more problems. If the gall bladder is seriously diseased that may not work.
Your friend may want to do more research and get a second or third opinion on whether the surgery is really necessary.
