1 Timothy 2:5,6: Maybe the Greatest JW Travesty
by Room 215 inwith the pre-memorial drums beating through dubland, it brings to my mind how the jw insistence on a literal reading of the 144,000 in revelation 7 and 14 has poisoned their entire outlook of the new testament and the teachings of christ.. although they're the most aggressive proselytizers of christendom, it's no wonder they've cooked up a host of specious rationalizations to demur on invitations to participate in public debates: they must know that their position on this bedrock teaching of christianity, i.e.
that jesus died and was raised for all and in his position of hevenly glory, intercedes on their behalf.
there's no question that any attempt by jws to defend their ludicrous teaching in a public forum would subject them to embarassment and well-deserved ridicule, and expose their cultishess.. and this is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg: look what the literal 144,000 does to eviscerate the power of jesus illustration of the sheep and the goats; it compels jws to equivocate on other crystal clear christian concepts, i.e the sonship of god and leading of the holy spirit.

suffice to say Will Power ,I was too busy being the heathen and worshiping the gods of rock n roll to be a jw so therefore have never been through the baptism in 85 or any other time. However I was related to jw and did take an interest in religion which is why I even bother to reply to posts such as this one .I wasn't even aware of the fact they were baptizing in the name of the org.I did notice that they were off base on some issues such as this one.Their belief that all people in the first century that converted to christianity were of the anointed remnant of the Isreal of god is a teaching that I'm formilar with and find argumentative ,I do not believe that women will serve as kings and priests in the heavenly kingdom and was accused of apostasy over the issue even though I was never a jw only a book study.Of course their argument was that spirit creatures do not have a sexual identity and thus gave them reasoning that it is part of gods plan ,which I find totally ludicrous.Back to the topic ,I have noticed another scripture which suggests that jesus is the mediator for the whole world(1john-2:1-3)

I remember when they announced the "new light" that christ was now the mediator for all .I am totally bewildered as to why they once again waffle on the issue. It seems clear to me that the bible is saying that everyone has to enter into the covenant through the ransom sacrifice of jesus.(hebrews 9:17)(rev.7:10-15)

I watched it myself and thought it was a very interesting look at how the people involved are coping with this completely tragic event in history.I thought robert deniro was doing a great thing when he volunteered to narrate and donate all proceeds to charity. For sure the big apple will never be the same.

Electronic Mind Control
by Sargon inthere is a lady who stands outside our local shopping mall, right next to the jw's, with a sign warning against electronic mind control.
she wears an old english army helmet, circa colonial days in india, presumably to protect her brain from harmful government generated electronic rays.
no-one pays her any more attention than we do the dubs.. there is an organization that claims that for the last 50 years, governments have been using "electronic mind weapons" to:.

I found this post very interesting ,thanks for the link.this does not sound as outrageous to me as it might to others ,because I do have an open mind. It's got me thinking that the people who claim alien abductions are actually being experimented on by the government.I know for a fact that the government has put a sattelite in orbit which is supposed to do a topography annalysis of the earth by using lasers that bounce of the planet into a computer on board, also the echelon computer is in orbit thus making me very suspicious as to their intentions.these accusations could be founded on these suspicions. As we are all involved in a technological revolution and we do know the government likes to experiment all kinds of millitary strategies, this could very well be a part of some kind of world domination scheme.I often wondered if they are using hypnotic suggestion via the tv or computers and I wouldn't put them above the kind of mind control people accuse the watchtower of.I plan to look into this further.

Anyone for a beer?
by Kenneson inbeer seems to be as common a drink in the old testament as is wine (isaiah 24:9), although it was not available in the desert (deut.
it was poured as a libation to yahweh (numbers 28:7) and was drunk at sacrificial banquets at the sanctuary (deut.
14:26) it should be noted that the new world translation calls it "intoxicating liquor" and some translations have "strong drink.

I thought it was because the ancient egyptians considered beer to be a truth serum. They can't handle the truth

Man Stuck in Windshield Left to Die
by teejay infort worth a judge on friday raised bond to $250,000 for a nurse's aide charged with murder after a homeless man she hit died in her garage with his body lodged in her car's windshield.. chante j. mallard, 25, had been released on $10,000 bail after she was arrested wednesday.
but at a bond hearing friday, prosecutors said that amount was too low.. state district judge james r. wilson raised the amount and said ms. mallard must be under house arrest, wear an electronic monitor, continue counseling, avoid alcohol and undergo drug testing.
the judge also imposed a gag order in the case.. ms. mallard was charged with murder this week in the slaying of gregory glenn biggs, 37, a former fort worth school bus driver whose body was found dumped last october at cobb park on fort worth's south side.. "it truly is one of the most bizarre things i have ever seen," said fort worth police lt. david burgess, a supervisor in the traffic division.

I couldn't believe it when I heard it either,I couldn't imagine someone driving down the road whith a peroson hanging out the windshield let alone pulling in the garage and letting him bleed to death.I almost posted that myself.I am going to try and keep track of all the most absurd stories this year and so far that one takes the cake.I know people in texas drive like maniacs but god you figure you could at least call an ambulance and show a little compassion.

The rumors of another cold war with china have been going around since the clinton administration.I don't think they are blowing smoke up our ass ,I think those maniacs in washington are serious ,the whole concept of we have to have more nukes than the other guy or mutually assured destruction goes back to the reagan era and they weren't fooling around then either.Personally I have never felt this was a good idea .Pointing a nuke at other nations is not national security and if this is bush's idea of a new world then someone needs a reality check.
