It probably won't be too hard for most of them since being at bethel they probably have excellent credit and can go out and start their own janitorial business . Some may be absorbed by congregations where they have family (in the org.) to help get them on their feet . I notice we suddenly have a bunch of pioneers at the congregation I've been visiting lately of which they've been paying for food but suddenly they came up short on the monthly bills for the hall . hmmmmmmm wonder what the connection is there if any.............

Terry I would walk away from that girl thinking she was nuts ,I'll be there's at least a 2-1 average with men and women and wome being the higher . They are more emotional than men and more likely to say things like they feel close to God , I think the big thins is if they can prophesy since that is the scripture used in old and new to describe the male and female slaves . The men are also supposed to have visions and old men would dream some sort of dreams that could be interpreted ,I'm guessing. One of the memorials I attended they made the "anointed" out to be the ultimate drones of the WTBTS by following all the teachings and being zealous in the preaching work even if disabled .You gotta ask today then , why all the replacements? hmmmmmmmmm

I've heard some jw's say that it's as apparent to them as knowing whether you are boy or girl .The WTBTS does state the partakers are not all anointed but there could be mental illness involved with some. Maybe they laid off that stance since the whole generation dogma is being recanted .

My uncle is out of one cult
by JWdaughter inbut as is typical, seems to have hooked up with another (get rich quick/god wants you to be rich) kind of cult.
this is my uncle with mental problems.
after 3 divorces, mentally ill children coming out of his ears, my mom thinks him hooking up with this 'new religion' means that my uncle is nuts-really nuts.

Yah sure , get rich quick , just convince people they should give you their money. Convince them that unless they do God cannot bless them and help them with their needs ........ disgusting what those type of religions do .

Hell Does Not Exist
by megs inaccording to spong, not only does hell not exist, but neither does the divinity of christ, a theistic god, miracles, the redemptive property of jesus' death on the cross, his resurrection, his ascension, and many other things besides.

Very nice bit of history leolaia but I was talking about the dantes inferno hell that christianity adopted at some point . The words death and hades are used in Revelation , the word hell being replaced for hades in some bibles but then they are thrown into the lake of fire , so I have to ask if hades is already a fiery prison for souls then how come it's destroyed in yet another lake of fire ? makes no sense to me .

Awake August 2008 Hurricane Katrina
by bobld inmore than 5,600 homes of fellow believers and 90 kingdom halls damaged.robert one of the volunteers has this to say:"jehovah takes good care of his people".also he gave up his job of over 40 years,to clean offices.you would think that after 40 years he would not have to work.. gregory: saw the light and sold his house and bought a pickup truck and trailer.nice move with the price of gas.a truck is handy for the field ministry.
(farmers make good use of pickup trucks).. wendell:"the day after katrina struck.now, however,we have seen god's care on a much larger scale.".
just your typical/ antitypical jw talk.. bob.

Buying a trailer and a pick might not be a bad idea if you live in an area that gets hit all the time with flooding , instead of rebuilding a home all the time you simply drive away and come back to your land whenever it clears up . It doesn't say what the first guy was doing before he quit so maybe a government job or union . Sounds like Wendell was talking about the WTBTS relief that was sent to new orleans . don't have the augus issue yet , but not finding that stuff worthy of throwing insults at.

If I remember correctly the WTBTS says that hell originally meant the common grave in greek just like sheol in hebrew , the belief that hell is a fiery under world where the souls of the dead are tortured for eternity is from greek mythology , dantes inferno .

J.W.'s Should "Hall" (Haul) Themselves Into 21rst Century
by Rapunzel inreading another thread about how the organization is not particularly successful in its effort to preach the gospel and news of kingdom, especially in developing and politically/culturally isolated nations and regions, it ocurred to me that the winessess are essentially using methods which are far outdated and very ineffective or non-productive.. so i was wondering if they could help further their own cause by going "high tech.".
i wonder: how much does a satellite cost?
is the cost laughably prohibitive for them?

Repunzel-- The WTBTS does not say that Babylon fell in 607 BCE . It says that judah fell in 607 BCE, Babylon was conquered in 537 bce or there abouts . The city still functioned way into the future ,it was not destroyed right away. The christian religion is based on the belief the world is ending and God is looking for people to not destroy when he takes control of all aspects of human affairs .

Is there a Christian message without the element of fear/perceived threat?
by nvrgnbk inso many christians highlight love and mercy as the main point of their religion.. that's undeniably appealing.. but is it true to christianity?.
in the end, isn't the belief all about escaping god's violent wrath?
aren't those that are unable to accept the system's contradictions and absurdities promised suffering and eventual destruction as punishment for their disbelief?.

I don't see how you can call God a megolomanic since the word means delusional wealth, power and omnipotence . Now if you created everything then I imagine he is wealthy and a omnipotent there's no delusional belief there. I think the word applies to people like GW bush who believes God wants him to be president and such.

nvrgnbk-- The way I see it, consciousness ends at death , the only soul that survives as a spirit are of the 144k remnant that goes to heaven , the souls of evil doers are not sent to a firey underworld such as the dantes inferno belief . They are symbolically destroyed in the lake of fire where there is no resurrection .IMO
