  it has almost always been my experience that when encountering a jehovah witness with sword drawn to defend relgion the first demand is to establish what clan (relgion) i have been branded with.

  thus the nit picking of my faith can take place.

  I heard it .What made me gag was at the end when he says people want to grow beards as a symbol of being independent in their minds. I have heard other explainations that sound so pitifully stupid i just couldn't believe what I heard such as only radicals and homosesuals like beards.Definately one the arguements I had with the organization.It's like saying because bin ladden has a beard that somehow you growing one makes you bin ladden .

  they have been preparing everyone by way on tv and radio on the sexual abuse in the jw religion.

  they had a small piece on the 6 o'clock news with a small interview with bill bowen.

  The Homeland Security Bill

  the patriot act and the new bill creating a department of homeland security leave out something very important.

  with these two bills the government will be allowed to create a central database that will contain information on every purchase you make with your credit cards, every medical prescription you fill, the web sites you visit (including this one), the e-mails you send, your bank deposits and anything else that leaves an electronic record except for one thing: gun purchases.

  the government is not allowed to use the fbi's records of background checks for gun purchases to find out if a suspected terrorist has bought guns.

  That is about the most insane proposition I've heard yet. I agree with chuck on this one all the way .When foriegners visit our country I think it's time we have some kind of intelligence on their activities especially when buying fire arms or methane gas.Don't get me wrong though I fully agree with Thomas Payne when he said those that sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.

  I am one of those guys that doesn't accept everything people say as undisputed truth. The whole thing just has too much coincidence to ignore but let's not be paranoid . I agree with questioning the facts presented especially since tactics like this have been used by power hungry psycho paths in the past.

  'Signs' was awesome

  signs is a great little flick to make you tense and think a bit.

  the script is strong but not too serious, the directing is in with the genre, but tasteful, and the acting is intense all around.

  i loved signs, and i normally despise all movies that come my way.. good stuff.. i don't want to give anything away, so have a good night.. ash

  I wasn't that impressed myself.We already discussed the plot problems in another thread. Personally I had just read stephen KIngs dream catcher novel and felt they stole the idea of aliens without weapons from that .
