Ezrabrooks - It looks like you were headed for the old apostate label with those remarks . In order to be jw you have to believe that the society is the voice of God .As far as the blood thing ,they would require you to carry around a no blood card so if you went to the hospital and needed blood the Dr. would look at the card and not give you any . yeppers , to them you are an opposer to the truth .

The Elder just walked out my door...
by ezrabrooks ini was having my usual bible study on thursday, with an elder from our local kingdom hall.. we are about half way through the knowledge book.. when i brought up the u.n. scandal and the silent lambs thing he just walked right out my door.. i am left wondering if he will come next week or if i am disfellowshipped even before i am baptized?

Bad things in JWs eyes
by rebel injoy2bfree's post on cults got me thinking.. was anyone else told that certain harmless things (harmless in my eyes) were satanic.. i know you have all mentioned smurfs, but i was also told that the 'my little pony' toys were demonic because they were designed by a wizard?????
did i really believe this rubbish - my daughter always wanted one but i wouldn't buy one for her cos i thought i would be inviting demons into my house - i feel really rotten now!.
also wind chimes (which i always wanted cos i love the sound), anything written by sir arthur conan doyle (and i love sherlock holmes and felt so deprived), the beatles, john denver - can't think of any more at the moment but there were quite a few.

Good point mary .I have experienced this first hand. They will demonize anyone who questions anything the WT says or does.It's not about a bible "study" it's about you accepting everything ever written in a WT publications as undisputed fact and truth. Ona - I shudder at the thought other than some of the single hot women I've seen in the Org. But most are obeese and old .

neyank- I am a huge sci-fi fan .right now i am reading Arthur C. Clarke the rama series of which doesn't really suit my taste .It seemed like he had a really good idea and then got caught up in trying to display his technical knowledge rather than creating characters and an exciting story .I can recommend some Stephen King novels that are more my taste Dream Catcher was there all the way and Tommy knockers was pretty good. Thanks for the link . I am always looking for new sites that pique my interest.

Kingpawn- A bunch of speculation is not evidence . I don't care what anyone claims to have seen . They proved even the hokey alien autopsy film to be a fraud . Evidence is something tangible something that can be examined in a laboratory with scientific scrutiny . With all the countless sightings we have nothing to show for it . I used to love that show the project bluebook and they never claimed to have such evidence. Even the crop circles have lost their mystique due to skeptics such as I . It seems only the skeptics are interested in the facts and not fairy tales. Blondie- I agree it kept you coming back for more but the end was a little bit of a let down . I can't see how they can make another miniseries with that ending .I mean we know what the aliens wanted and it wasn't anything that would make further exploration into the subject interesting.

Prisca - If you were asking me that then my answer is I'm not studying with them ,I just went to see what all the comotion was about with all the accusations on the board.I assure you I'm not interested in playing those kind of games with people .As you can see some of my experiences are posted in threads as to some of the stupid shit these people do.

They do seem to be touchy about those subjects . When I went to the congregation book study just to see the goings on at the local hall a couple months ago they saw a couple of new faces such as mine in the seats It was a real small group probly about 10 people but the elder in charge made it a point that he wouldn't be answering any questions about those topics. I mean jeeze what is it ,they can't answer without looking guilty ? Is this the image you want newbies to see ? what a crock

I got the information on the Watchtower information services .org web site . The witness in the country of Georgia are fighting legal battles and being beaten up and having their property destroyed this is all being perpetrated by the orthodox church.I would have to say that is tyrany at it's finest .When people can no longer tolerate individuals because of a different belief then burn your property and beat you and your family.
