I still find that hard to believe that the WTBTS says that since jehovah is the God of war they cannot claim to be pacifist .Jesus said happy are the peaceable for they shall be called sons of God ,love your neighbor as yourself ,be not part of the world as I am no part of the world. Jesus himself is called the prince of peace since he seems to be appointed over the church would tend to tell me that peace and love are the answer and only evil people actually benefit from warfare .I think helping others in need is a matter of conscience there is a difference between apprehending a violent person and killing people over politics .I notice that some on this board claim they wish they would have just gone to war other than doing alternative service or going to prison ,of course the bible doesn't say anything about alternative service but rather commands the church to prison because they must not murder .

How can a Bible believer join the military?
by Open mind inwhen i was a true-blue-believing-jw i always thought that my ace in the hole was the neutrality issue.
if you're a jw and you're losing an argument on trinity or blood or hell you can always try to change the subject and zero in on how jw's are the only major religion that takes a strong stand against joining the military.
(i know there are other pacifist churches, but not many.).

here's what I said on a different thread , just some copy and paste here----I can say I've heard the televangelists talk about how all faithful christians will be kings and priests with christ in heaven.The bible is clear that there will be allot of kings and priests but not all christians will be .I personally believe that all true believing christians can be anointed but the great crowd are not called to be kings and priests . I think the final way of knowing for sure is whether they die as a martyr at the hands of the worlds political powers but think there is way more than they are telling about the situation in the WTBTS publications . Another way to tell would be accurate prophesy but I don't think all have that ability since it does require allot of praying for it .I've never once heard a j-ho pray for it at a meeting.

mcclellan's book has understandably created a furor within the current presidential administration, an administration that has valued loyalty above all else.. mcclellan was a long-time bush loyalist, he started working for bush when bush was still govenor of texas.
mcclellan helped bush to enter the white house, and then followed bush to washington mcclellan became a spokesman for bush, defending the president on such issues as the war in iraq.

I've read some comments from his fellow scientists and there are some that think him a quack . What's so hard to believe about jericho? , could easily have been an earth quake that brought the walls down , like nobody has ever heard of that before.

Is there anyone here formerly of the "Annointed"?
by Low-Key Lysmith ini'm sure this question has been asked here before, but i was wondering if someone would care to enlighten us as to the undeniable "sign" or occurence that makes folks believe that they are of the annointed class?.
....or am i asking too personal a question?.
i've always been really curious as to what happens to these people to make them believe this beyond a shadow of a doubt.. apparitions?.

Observations about dubs as people...
by Princess Daisy Boo ini was thinking back on some of the people i knew growing up, as well as my own family - many of whom are dubs... tell me what your own experiences are of these kind of people, did you notice a large prevalence of these types of people in the congs you attended:.
1. health nuts: into all sorts of alternative health theories like iridology, reflexology, homeopathy etc?
2. get rich quick folk: always getting involved in this scheme or that, this business or that - especially pyramid type things?.

I just remember a bunch of very lame two faced dooshes .Allot that I knew were working in construction because some owned their own businesses .
