Uh-ohhhhh... Well, plan to see THAT number go away. I'd say, starting with the 2012 annual publisher whatchamacallit report. Certainly by 2013. Causing too many questions and too much of a ruckus, that number is. Therefore, it's gotta go. Because, as they now say, they don't NEED to know.
Peace to you all... and wait for that "new" light. It's coming, sans a number they've been counting for, what, close to a centure now?
I could see that.. new light being: It was wrong for David to order a count of Isreal and it displeased God, and so it is wrong for them to keep a count of Spiritual Isreal.

my niv has notes at the bottom of pages, regarding other possible meanings and some definitions, etc.. anyway, it says that jesus is the greek form of joshua, which means the lord saves.
would that mean that joshua is the english form of his name?
thanks for your comments,.
Tec,
:-) Hey sis.
Thanks for sharing the notation, I enjoyed the observations. Have been doing some ancestry research on some of my family and I found it interesting how names evolved along the way.. Some cultures slightly changed spellings, others change the same name to fit the language rendition of a similar name in their language.
I found it enlightening as to how the same person and can be called by many names, and still be correct, perhaps not the orginal birth name given in the language at birth, but still retaining the meaning and representation of the person through time as they moved through other cultures.
For to the Jews he is Yaheshua and to the Greeks Jesus... and to us how he chooses to reveal himself... for heavenly language is not limited to our national interptations.

i was sitting in my garage, as i often do, to chill out and i actually ended up becoming angry.. so here i am, in my garage, kicking it on the stool for the drum set that is in there (i am a pianist/composer, not a drummer).
i start to think about all the crazy stuff that transpires on this planet.
we have all seen shows and heard stories or maybe even witnessed events that don't add up.
Interesting thing about God... He chooses ways to reach us that we would understand. You knew how absolutely impossible it was for that sequence of hands to happen, and how sentimental it was to you.
So now that he has reached out to you to answer your question.... keep listening.
i'd say my worst is sometimes i don't like to deal with important things and don't unless necessary.. my best quality (and there are so many that this may be difficult.
what aboutchoo?.
I can have great empathy
and also be too emotional...

is forgiveness overrated?.
if i'm being completely honest with myself, there is a short list of folks who i haven't forgiven.
It is impossible to understand love, without knowing forgiveness.

i haven't always understood how christ could have carried our sins for us, and had them forgiven.
i've sort of understood because that's what people say he did, but the ransom (in a legalistic adam/jesus way) never held weight for me.
but something recently happened that allowed me to understand.
Tammy,
Thank you for sharing. This too has been in my thoughts.

you spent months, years or even decades as a christian.you sacrificed everything for god, gave him everything you had,you would speak every day for him to others and would live as a person dedicated to god.what did you receive in return after all your efforts?did he help you when you were in need?if yes,are you 100% sure that he was the one who helped you?could you feel his holy spirit in your life?.
p.s:this topic has nothing to do with the org.
i am talking exclusively about god and your relationship with him.
Lady Lee and LITS
I understand.
It saddens me you have never felt his love, I do pray that it does not continue on that way.
please know, you have mine.
