Hi, everybody!
by thomyorke ini am from russia, and i've ben a jw for a 19 years of my life, since my early childhood.last 5-6 years that i spend my time in the organization, it was only because my family, close friends, and a girlfriend.i've been a pioneer for a 6 years, but my favorite kind of ministry was construction of kingdom halls!
(because there was a lot of humour, creative young people, young and pretty sisters, etc.
;)i still have very good memories about that period...nearly before i finally quit, i was disfellowshipped for a 1 year and 4 months.in that time i 've reed a "crisis of concience" and "in search for christian freedom", and give those book to my mom,she already was inactive, and having a serious doubts.but i was too naive!i decided to comeback into organization- cause of my girlfriend and friends.and remain there as a "double agent" or a spy))i had to pass through all the way to be reinstated...when i 'came back', i had a bad surprise: the elders decided that i need to study some publications again, for my "reabilitation".

Really random... wisdom teeth
by ilikecheese ini'm kind of freaking out because i'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled in a few weeks.
two of them are completely impacted, and one is partially impacted.
fortunately, they're not oddly aligned.

I had mine out at 25 I was under general anastesia, so didnt remember a thing. Take the vicodin as a back up and if the Ibuprophen works well enough than good for you! But if not, you have them.
If the vicodin upset your stomach you can ask for percocet, also a narc (it's oxycodone vs hydrocodone (vicodin) I have been told that for some people percocet doesn't bother some people as much (if you are prone to nausia)
Also for the nausia, ask about Vistaril (generic drug name: HYDROXYZINE) it is an antihystamine that can be given to boost the narcotic and help control upset stomach. Vistaril can be taken with Vicodin or Perocet. It definately does help.
Another option you can ask for is vicoprophen (hydrocodone and ibuprophen) This is what I used after I through out my back last year. Be careful if you end up liking the effects, they can be addictive and your body does get used to them.
Hope it goes well! Take care!

We also had a bethel speaker, from Patterson...a 30ish nerdy guy who smiled alot. He did a decent job with what he had to work with.
Also thank-you Barbara for what you wrote. That was an interesting perspective, and a very real account of how it is. The cat hair part grossed me out a bit though. :-) I also like what you said re JWs "...made up of mostly very sincere people with all the usual assets and deficits" I always try to remember that as my angst continues to grow post J-Dubdom.

I had the same problem with blank posts the other day, it was making me crazy. I downloaded chrome and then it worked. Right now I'm trying IE9 again, only after clicking the compatibility button as suggested above. Good suggestion.
Welcome to the board...try to post your intro again!

An Elder's honest opinion...saw this on another site...thoughts?
by MsGrowingGirl20 inby "shadow elder".
before i express my opinion to the readers and contributors to this website (www.ex-jw.com), i would like to explain who i am and to present my bona fides as someone qualified to comment on this website and jehovah's witnesses in general.. first of all, i am an active jehovah's witness living just outside of new york city.
being a large metropolis, new york has many kingdom halls located within the city and several more in surrounding boroughs, counties, and suburbs.

Thanks for posting! I enjoyed reading his thoughts. He's at his personal stage of waking up. I personally like to cut people some slack, and not be too harsh. Some of what he said may come from years of being a dub-elder. I'm sure we've all said things that could come off as haughty and judgemental.

what happens to wts writers who write mistakes in printed pubs
by mP ingiven that the printed word is forever and cannot be erased do the writers get into trouble for the embarassment they cause ?
every mistake results in someone today or tommorrow or nnext year and so on losing faith which is a disasyer for the org.
how do they hope to control these errors and prevent them from happening in the future.?

I'm sure nothing happens to them, it's all edited and proofed before it's printed...so I would imagine almost a dozen people had read it before it goes to print.

Sorry about all this, was using IE9....just downloaded Chrome. Hope it works now, or I give up...it wasn't even that interesting...gosh!!!
SIS. 1: Maybe... it's because I was raised in the truth that I find it incredibly strange that people don't think for themselves...or think at all. I had no idea it was St. Paddy's today, until I got to work. One customer tells me she is off to celebrate, but, she has no idea why or what. So, I asked two more people if they knew what St. Paddy's day was about or why they were " celebrating" it. They had no idea either! Everyone just seems to copycat what everyone else does. ..
SIS 2: Yeah, understand. I was explaining to a girl that we don't celebrate valentines day and why. She had no idea, just always celebrated everything. Kinda sad to just do things and not even know what you are doing.
SIS 3: It is sad. The world allows others to dictate what they are going to do and they don't even question it. They do things just because everyone else does it.
Quotes I found very ironic: "...incredibly strange that people don't think for themselves" HAHAHA REALLY LOOK IN THE MIRROR
"Kinda sad to just do things and not even know what you are doing." OMG
"allows others to dictate what they are going to do and they don't even question it" ALWAYS ABLE TO POINT THE FINGER AT OTHERS
sometimes I think I am taking crazy pills
Sorry about the blank posts
