A big shift in the world is about to happen......
by EndofMysteries ini don't want to deceive anyone and i have to clarify a few things so i'm sorry this is going to be a lot more vague then you want.
infact if you do not already realize or also feel something is about to happen as in the title, then move along, it will be a month or 2 before i update this.
it's not my intention to annoy anybody, i am too uncomfortable to post any details because it's too new and i need to verify things, and i am also feeling responsible to give a subtle warning, that it might be something somebody needs to see.

by XBEHERE inwhat can you say about the conditional friendships that being a jehovah's witness promotes?
i am still active and there are many who sh*t on me and tossed me aside because of my attitude change.
to me it just seems too easy for these people to turn on and off affection.

I was very sad when I slowely realized over the course of about a year and 1/2 (from time I stepped down as MS to being slightly irregular, missing Meetings and Service) that everyone around you (99% at least) are just conditional friends. All this love and 'spiritual family' talk amounts to nothing.
I can't blame the "bros & Sisters" because I had the same mindset for so long...it's the crazy culture & mindset that has been promoted and ingrained in so many.
I am still physically in the Org, so it makes it even harded to go to meetings, shake hands, make friendly small talk all the while knowing these people don't really care...and would turn around in disgust if they knew how I felt now.

Well, I talked with two active JWs about the latest understanding of the F&DS.
by Theocratic Sedition ini know a brother who went to the most recent annual meeting.
older brother, non-annointed, elder, wife a pioneer, and overall a pretty good dude.
he let me take a peak at the new awake dropping in 2013, which by the way i have to give credit where it's due as i like the new 16 page format.

We Need A Group Of Anointed To Challenge The Governing Body
by DT ini believe that a coup is one of the governing body's worst nightmares.. imagine a splinter group led by anointed ones that draw off enough of a following to cause confusion about who is directing the organization.. this may be one of the reasons the governing body removed the special status of the anointed and placed it on an organizational arrangement that they just happen to occupy.. the irony is that this action is a coup in itself.
by declaring themselves leaders in complete control of the organization, they have created a rival group composed of those who disagree.
these people have no obligation to follow these newly self appointed leaders.

I personally think that is unlikely as the current GB have the money and the infastructure. Who would actually listen to a group of annointed men from nearby areas marching on Bethel?
A High-up coup???...maybe some "Ray Franz-esque" ballsy bros with some power already at bethel...that would be awesome. Although unlikely, I share your optimism!

Do JWs really notice significant doctrinal change?
by keyser soze inall of these threads about the 'new light' regarding the fds has got me wondering.
as ex-jws, we've trained ourselves to notice such things.
we tend to treat them as if they're of great significance, even convey a certain level of optimism that it will actually wake some up, make some think, even lead to some sort of mass revolution within the ranks.. do rank-and-file jws really see any significance, or is it just wishful thinking?

I would have condisdered myself a typical R afd F back in the day, although I was an MS, while (mentally) in. I think back to the 95 generation change, I was almost 30, on my way to being an elder (if I just got my hours up..dammit) not a spiritual "giant" or really deep 'doctrinal thinker' but not an idiot either...to give myself a little credit anyway ;-)
I regretfully say that the change in 95 didn't do anything to me...I didn't think "huh, that's really weird, what the hell is going on in NY" I swallowed it as new light from imperfect men, who were doing the best they could...and we were the closest thing to the truth. I actually stopped thinking about it after the closing song. I was ready to go home have a burger and a beer and watch some football.
I would venture to say that a large percentage now are like the "former me".......unfortunately.

Recovery, you are wasting your time. Thank you for promoting www.jwfacts.com ... it is one of the first sites I discovered when researching my religion. I imagine that %99.9999 of people will find this to be a great site written by a genuine guy just trying to help people see the duplicitous nature of the WTS. The %.0001 are crazy JWs like you (who are probably counting time) trying to find imaginary contradictions. If the author has made an honest mistake in verbage (being human) I'm sure he will have no problem correcting it. Just to be clear though, the only thing you are doing by starting these threads is to promote a helpful website, called www.jwfacts.com

to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH
by oompa inand i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?
