Has anyone else ever wondered this ?
by scary21 ini know the jw's are wrong but if they were right, this is my question...... when the big a comes, there has to be the best person who dies.
the one who lost out on life by a fraction.
the very best one who still did not make it.

watchtower tones down apostate talk at august 3rd convention!
by nowwhat? inno mention of them being mentally diseased or using "lies" to deceive god's people, just that they are out to attract followers for themselves!.
p.s.
i was cringing at the thought of sitting for 3 1/2 hours for the afternoon session but fortunately my one kid got sick!!

stiilin, I would think that a talk like this would have been a manuscript, I thought most of them are at this point. Anyway, If he "toned" it down too much I'm sure big brother who sits up in the chairmans's office scrutanizing the outline/manuscript would have some words with him. Orrrr, could the WTS have sent out a memo to all conventions to come, to soften the language, maybe they sent out a revised outline/script because of bad publicity. i doubt it, but who knows.
please excuse any typos wife is upstairs and i'm an undercover poster

I hear ya! hang in there. It sucks to lay there and dwell on the thought that "It was just a cult all along"
And although probably not college material I still think of catching a TD pass "that never was" playing HS football.

Anyone busted on apostate site. JCs how are they handled.
by joe134cd ini'm just wondering has any body ever been busted on an apostate site because someone was able to identify them because of something they wrote.
why i ask this question is because how would this be explained at a jc.
because the person who reported it to the jc was reading something that they shouldn't of.

To answer the question though, and not hijack the thread and make it personal.
If you are going to report somebody do it anonomously then you only have to worry about how the JC was handled with the one you reported. You won't be there! I highly agree with others, just don't give out personal info unless you don't mind the threat of discovery.

Do you think "Blondie" is addicted to reading Watchtowers and Awakes?
by booker-t ini remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

One less celebrity Scientologist
by Gopher init makes me very happy when a popular celebrity leaves a cult, because it could give others the courage to do it or start to think about leaving.. leah remini played carrie on "the king of queens", and has also been on "saved by the bell", "the talk" and had small parts in other shows.. http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/leah-remini-leaves-church-of-scientology-calls-it-corrupt-report-2013117.
leah remini leaves church of scientology, calls it "corrupt": report.
the church of scientology has one less celebrity among its ranks, according to a new report: leah remini.

"She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of 'religion.'"
What an amazing, logical, wonderful belief! Wow! and I loved her on King of Queens...great show!

I will always be amazed that courts rule on weather a 13,14 or 15 year old is competent enuogh to decide to refuse blood and possibly die, when you can't drink alcohol until you are 21. The Adult age of 18...should be the age of decision to make life and death choices...especially ridiculous religious ones.

Well, as to be expected...The "paper"printed the same lame ass article about this years DC. I sent this reply and will just keep trying. Can't hurt and it's a fun way to waste 20 min, ;-)
-----------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I'm a little disappointed with the article about the Watchtower convention...It's been the same cut and paste article for years. I realize you are doing your jobs as expected and probably don't want to stir anything up with a religious corporation that brings in thousands of dollars to the local economy. It's a lot easier to write the article that appears every year. I get that.
I sincerely hope that someday you would print something a little "controversial" that is truth and relevant news about a religious organization that basically says that they alone have THE Truth, and anyone not part of their organization will absolutely be destroyed...including you, your children, and everyone that you love that is not a JW. This is their actual doctrine, that is why they pass out these invitations...in order to get you there, start a bible study with you, baptize you (eventually after a 6 mo-1 year process) and ultimately save YOUR life!!
They water down their public message so much...and you as a news paper pass this on as 'a group of nicely dressed bible students trying to encourage home bible study and living by bible principles'. They do a great job of hiding the "oh yeah, if you're not a baptized member, Jehovah will annihilate you at Armageddon" Please, please do an investigatory article one of these days. I ask this with all due respect, realizing as I mentioned, that their are internal politics involved in the news business that may hinder writing such an article. Thanks again for your time.
