This is interesting...BUT, The JWs will just change the name in Finnish from Judicial Comittee to 'Loving Congregational Counsel Session' Nothing will change. I do applaud peoples efforts though to instigate change.'

420/Marijuana/Mary Jane - What Is The Society's Stance Now That It's Legal In Two States?

sorry if it's already been discussed (i did do a search and did not see anything recent) here on the board.

now that 420 has been legalized in washington and colorado, what is the society's stance on this?

is it viewed the same as alcohol, taken in moderation?

It's still technically illegal on a federal level. Maybe they'll use that reasoning. Personally I am all for it, for those that enjoy it. I will probably never try it again!

See below for personal experience....not related to WT actions or thread.

About 6 months ago a buddy of mine at work had some pot brownies his GF made. I said I was curious and would like to try it. He gave me one, instructing me to eat about 1/4 first. Well, dumb-a$$ ME ignores that, and eats a good half (having never done it before...good JW in HS) about 1 hr later I was feeling ok, then within about 20 min my heart rate sky rocketed to about 175 bpm. My arms and legs were tingling and I was feeling a little dizzy. I was really scarred. Fortunately my wife was not home, so I called a non-JW relative close by, and they took me to the urgent care clinic.

My heart had worked itself into a weird rhythm (forgot the name) I was there for about 2 hours until they got it under control. During that time the buzz or high I got was not pleasant...it was a weird feeling, I never again want to experience. I was hoping for a nice euphoric percocet-like buzz.

Maybe it will all be lumped into something new call 'Kingdom Service' time (instead of "field" service) Kingdom service time will be: visiting, sheparding, cleaning halls, hall projects etc...

This is my prediction anyway.

this weekend's "SPECIAL TALK"....

ok, so as most know, this is the weekend of the "special talk" .... if anyone is going to the k hall, please shaer your thoughts on what makes is "so special".... i bet it will be more recycled same same.... "god loves you, he hates violence, he hates bad things happening to good people, he wants you all to be jw memebers...or he will kill you all at the big loving armageddon!!!!!!!

I am very proud to say I excused myself from the "special" (same'ol same'ol) talk. My wife wasn't even that mad. I am a happy guy camped out on my couch, all by myself.

Watched 3 season of game of thrones - I want those 25+ hours of my life back

this is the worst series i've ever watched in my life.

whenever things are starting to get smooth and good characters seem to gain advantage, the writers just kill them.

i've wasted 25+ hours of my life watching how the writers make the bad win over the good.. they make you continue watching by planting the seed in your head that "just a few more episodes and everything is gonna be all right", but no, painful death comes upon anyone who is not cruel and perfidious enaugh.

Personally I think it's pretty dumb to spend that long watching something you hate...Games of Thrones is an Amazing show, in my humble opinion. I think you are probably in the minority. Next time if you don't like a show, I would recommend stopping by at least ep. # 3, that way you limit your time being wasted. ;-)

just got back from watching jw.stream presentation at our local kh of a 'special' meeting at ursus assembly hall in warsaw.

all the congs in the country were tied in, but some will be watching replay later in the day.

there were 3 parts.
