Do You Personally Know Of Anyone That Committed Suicide?
by minimus inlately, i've come to find out that a more than a few people in the area had killed themselves.
most of the people i know of were in their early twenties or forties.
for those loved ones surviving them, it was mostly a shock!

the gist of the article is that trade schools are becoming increasingly poplular in our down economy, and that many of them deceptively market themselves, to put it nicely.
far too many students graduate from these outfits with tens of thousands of dollars of debt and zero job prospects.. when i was 19 years old, i decided to take the "spiritual" and "theocratic" route by foregoing a college education in favor of a quick trade school program.

Touring a campus dorm with my youngest in the morning, then taking her shopping, followed by a date with a man I rather like. Sunday I am cooking dinner for some friends in my neighborhood.

Aging is so terrible especially since we spent most of our lives being told we would never grow old and die. I will be 45 in June and I would do anything to be in my 20's again. My oldest daughter left for college last year and my youngest is leaving for college this year. I will be middle aged and alone - something none of us really want to be. I do agree with some of the other posters though that say you become more comfortable in your skin.

I was terrified of the elders, my husband, my parents, the demons, Jehovah. When I walked out the door 4 years ago I felt like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone when he opened the door and screamed "I AM NOT AFRAID ANYMORE"

I help serve breakfast at the soup kitchen (The Mission in Denver) on Tuesday's and Thursday's. My daughters come when ever they are able. It really helps us appreciate what we have.
