This was read by a circuit overseer at my hall when I was still a witness. That was over 6 years ago. But I remember this vividly - especially the one that confused mall and hall (How stupid do they think we are?)

What's The Longest Bible Study Length You Heard Of?
by Perry ini knew a sister in my old congregation that had two sons and i actually studied with one.
i left the org, went back to college, new job etc.
then i ran into her about ten years later at a store.

My ex studied with a man for ten years. The study had absolutely no interest in "the twoof" and made this clear every week. His wife had become a witness and he agreed to study for her sake. It was an easy hour for the ex every week, however, I am sure it was an excruciating hour for the poor study. The wife died of cancer and the study ceased.

by BrotherPrince inno, not that prince, its just a username.
hey apostates, i've heard about these types of forums at meetings and such, never would've guessed it was called jehovahs-witness.net lol.
(excuse my shock, hope no one is offended).

Arguments are to be avoided: they are always vulgar and often convincing.

Does every congregation have a "perv" elder?
by donny ini have been listening to a variety of podcasts over the past couple of months raging from christian based to to various skeptic and atheist ones.
so far i have come across two podcasts where former elders of jw's were interviewed and both of them mentioned that when it came to judicial situations involving issues of a sexual nature, that one or more elders often asked for way more detail than was necessary to ajudicate the situation.
i know that was true in our congregation, but i assumed we just had a kinky elder who liked detail.

I think it all depends on the person on the hot seat. If it is a young female then the elder body becomes deeply interested and concerned in all the graphic details. If the sinner is an unattractive obese elderly man that slipped into Tijuana for a quickie then the body has no desire for a visual picture.

Question #9 of this week's "oral review" of DVD "Faith In Action"...
by Alfred inthis week, the service meeting will have an oral review of the dvd faith in action which was distributed in the 2010 district assembly worldwide... as many of you probably know, the intent of this dvd is to present a "white-washed" version of the history of the watchtower by omitting all the scandals and cover-ups.... i no longer go to meetings, but i would have loved to raise my hand and answer question #9 which reads: "what did the bible students expect would happen in 1914?".
my response would have been the following:.
even though the geoffrey jackson admits that the bible students expected a "heavenly reward", the dvd avoids mentioning that russell categorically predicted armageddon would come in october of 1914. what's even worse is the fact that the narrator lied on two occasions by saying that the bible students expected or reasoned that jesus would take the throne in 1914. this is completely false.

Black Sheep - Thank you so much for that newspaper article. Parts of it were so funny! I love the follow ...
Furthermore, the uncovering is worthwhile because it will put a check to the cartloads of ‘Millennial Dawn’ literature which have dumped into Brooklyn homes since Pastor Russell came to the city. The street cleaning department has enough to attend to without having its burden increased by even the weight of the paper upon which the Brooklyn Tabernacle effusions are printed. I am assuming of course that the cleaning department and the Atlantic Ocean are the speedy recipients of most of the papers which are thrown at us week by week.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Fun with the July 15th WT illustration
by undercover inyes, friends, it's that time once more... when we clip some wt art to a post and try to find all the subliminal wt propaganda messages hidden in the illustration.
(kinda like, "can you find the differences between these two drawings" for kids in the sunday comics).
here's the illustration:.

This illustration seems way over my head. Please help me out here...If I put my feet up while talking on the phone, I am enjoying the "Freedom of the world"? And if I drink from a straw I am "Making the truth my own"?
This seems a bit DEEP for me.

Stroke of good luck!!! Came down with a cold - way too sick to make it. But many thanks to DIEST for singing that lovely kingdom song on my voice mail - it was almost as if I was at the KH. So wish I could post it here.
