Funny ELDUB story!
by DATA-DOG ini know we talk about how the " life-saving rescue work" is a joke and not effective.
well, here is good example involving a faithful eldub... i meet a contractor at work.
he knows one of my co-workers who is an elder, and nice btw.

My sister's decision to ex-communicate me, just might rock the boat!
by Faithful Witness init was 11 days after i received the email from my sister, informing me that she is no longer going to communicate with me.. i was never a jw, so i don't fully comprehend this decision, nor do i understand the games jw's play.. i talked to my mom yesterday, and she (baptized within last year) is getting more and more fed up with the nonsense.
she has been trying to get everyone to come together, and she is seeing more and more extreme behavior from my sister and her husband.
my mom is blaming my brother in law, but my sister has clearly spoken up and said she is speaking for herself also.

It is all a game. I am disfellowshipped, but my elder father and pioneer mother communicate with me everyday. Your sister probably thinks Jehovah will give her great blessings for cutting you off.

Life Everlasting in the Freedom of the sons of God. I read it every March before the Memorial. I threw away every JW book (including my bible) but I cannot part with that book. I also loved Faith on the March by Mcmillon

At my last congregation I had a really good friend named Ruby. She was quite a bit older than me, but she was as cool as they come. She is one of the only things I really miss. One night I was having a party at my house and she was there of course. She had brought along an ancient sister and when she went to leave she pulled up in front of my house to help sister ancient get in. She forgot to put the van in park and when she tried to get back in the van she fell and the van ran over her legs. The men in the house are running down the street to try and stop the van and there is Ruby laying in the middle of the street. Fortunately the damage was not severe. However, Ruby decided that she could not attend the KH anymore and had to do the phone hook up. Although she spent most of her time at the mall, going to the hall was too much. So I told my husband that Ruby could come to our house on meeting nights and we could do the phone hook up together. Since my ex was unaware that he had a wife and two young daughters, he didn't really care. Every Tuesday night they would call and tie us in. Now Ruby was a champion Scrabble player - we played almost every single day. We would usually last through the opening song and prayer and then Ruby could not take the distraction and still play Scrabble. She would always put a couple of pillows on the phone so we did not have that noise. My daughters loved Tuesday night. We always had such a good time with that muted phone in the background, playing games and drinking wine.

A letter from my brother Nathan to my uncle in 1978 when Nathan was at Bethel
by Magwitch inmy uncle recently died and apparently he never threw anything away.
among many things he held onto was a letter that my brother wrote to my uncle in 1978 from bethel.
my brother was in the same hall as howard zenke (a real heavy at bethel) and nathan rode to all the meetings with howard and beana.

If the Watchtower says it then it must be true. It is shocking that some of theGB don't even believe their own writing.

April 2014 WT is up, more attacks on career and unbelieving family!
by EndofMysteries inhere are some highlights from the magazine.
the first article, "imitate the faith of moses", teaches how moses didn't remain in pharohs court, they then skillfully spin getting a decent paying job and career as equaling "enjoyment of sin", and how those who have "enjoyment of sin" will die at armageddon with everyone else who enjoys their job.
here are some quotes from the article.... "when tempted to engage in sinful conduct, ask, what future do i want for myself?....

I wonder if Sophie was raised a witness. Becoming a proffesional ballerina takes years and years of practice every day from a very early age. Like Andre I believe they pulled this one out of their ass also.

The scripture this generation will not pass away was just someone's private interpratation. Please. Don't tell anyone"

Did your congregation have a "Pioneer Appreciation Day"?
by Coffee House Girl inmy mom (who is now a regular pioneer) has been laid up after having major surgery, and i assert my "biblical" rights as a daughter to do what i can to take care of her, so i have been trying to go to her house on my day off to vaccum and run errands for her since she is not supposed to drive.. she called me last saturday to tell me that i couldn't come by because she was driving to her pioneer appreciation day get-together, wtf .
i'm just curious if this only happens in my area (michigan, us)????.

We have always had a special dinner for the pioneers. It is the norm here in Colorado. Every year it seemed to get more and more extravagant. The elders would foot the bill. Since my ex was a regular pioneer and an elder the expence really hurt. One year we had 32 reg pioneers and their mates, plus the elders and wives. We rented a place and I volunteered to make a Ukrainian meal for everyone. (being my heritage). I was cooking for days. The best part was that we purchased good Russian vodka. I was flat on back for a week after that.

I feel nostalgic and for a second, even felt like I wanted to go back.
by StephaneLaliberte intoday, i feel nostalgic about the good time i had in the truth.
i was thinking about the district convention coming up this summer and i have to honestly say that i miss being there and hearing about some really good bible advices.
you know, about how to be a better husband and father, how to be balance with entertainment or money, how to priorities love and despise wickedness.

Sorry you are conflicted. I have read Crisis of Consciience every year for the last six years. It reafirms that the JW religion is nothing more than a scam

They need to be in good emotional health. Won't that rule out the majority?
