If you are single and have married friends, . . .
by compound complex inis your sense of loneliness (if you are lonely) heightened when you see what they share?
how do cope (if you are coping) with a sense of isolation, of not having a significant other?.
i know some single persons who are very happy as they are.

I have been divorced for nine years after a horrible 20 year marriage in JWdom. My husband was the epitome of a male chauvinist pig. I have had some nice dating experiences and have met some wonderful men, but the thought of committing again has me running in the opposite direction anytime I get close. I do get lonely, especially around my happily married friends, but not enough to chance it again. -

by steve2 ini live in relatively small seaside community (regional population around 45,000).
in my ten years here, i've had witnesses call on me perhaps twice (not special visits but during door-to-door).
whereas they once canvassed door-to-door much more frequently - and in larger size service groups - there is quite a decline in their door-knocking - at least in this region.. with the advent of the "trolley" work, their visibility has increased - but i'd estimate only marginally.

WTF??? When I think of all the years I spent in full time service trudging through huge snow dirifts and below zero weather in northern WI, literally going hungry many times, begging Jehovah to help me reach honest hearted ones, wanting desperately to reach people before the great tribulation started.......What was it all about? -

Nicolaou....My very good friend committed adultery and her elder husband sat in on all the judicial proceedings. She was DF'ed. This absolutely makes my skin crawl to think of these sick sexually perverted men doing this to a woman. -

As a child, those beatings in the back room were a pretty good motivator to sit up, sit still and tune out. Of course, it was not just the back room that motivated me ..... there was also the book study at our house where wooden spoons were swinging regularly, the back of my mother's hand was always ready to go or my personal favorite was the humiliating loud deafening slap on a bare thigh (in plain view of everyone). I also remember being reprimanded from the platform by my father a couple of times during a Watchtower study. Lots and lots of motivation!! -

I tend to believe that there are 3 types of people that become Jehovah's Witnesses
- The ones that are raised in the religion
- The ones that have had some sort of life changing experience and are searching for answers
- The ones that are just bat sh** CRAZY
The top two categories tend to eventually see that it is all a lie. Unless you fall into one of these categories, please run!
