things i thought about during the memorial talk last night:.

i don't know if it was just the memorial i went to or if this was across the board, but it seems that the talk was dumbed down a bit more than it had been in the past.

not that it wouldn't surprise me if was dumbed down.

Of course the two octogenarian elders they got to pray over the emblems decided to try to give their own Memorial talk in their prayer. On and on they droned. STFU already and pass the shit.

He actually read 24 and then skipped to 26. These two verses show it's important to study, attend meetings, progress in our 'accurate' knowledge of the Bible (no shit, he actually said accurate). But what about verse 25. I read it on my own

25 - In the same manner was not also Ra´hab the harlot declared righteous by works, after she had received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way?

Undercover, the exact same thoughts about Rahab bothered me last night. I wanted that scripture read! I was using a different translation last night, and avoiding that scripture seemed like a big red flag.

It has been 5 years since I stepped into a kH. Last night proved to me what has been said here over and over - Everything is being dumbed down. What is with those songs? My God - They are down right VULGAR!

I was pleased with myself that I could text and pass the emblems at the same time though.

I went with 4 others - 2 siblings who have not been in a KH for20 years and their significant others who have never stepped foot in a KH. My parents begged, pleaded and bribed this year - it was easier to go than to stay home.

It started late which meant I had to be social with the few people I knew - caught up on the weather, the kids etc. Did not bother to tell anyone I was DF'ed - I have always been a social person and I do not let the DF status affect who I talk to. My old friends seemed happy to see me. I have not been in a hall for 5 years - it all seemed so surreal. The songs were dreadful, the speaker monotone, the prayers seemed silly. I had 4 different people texting me throughout the service, so had a hard time focusing on the somber occasion. Plus I was desperately trying to find the final score of the CO Rockies game (they won).

My brother said he felt good being ther, knowing he was no part of the stupidity anymore

My sister was counting the minutes until she could take her gin cocktail and ambien (she complained her feet were swelling and someone smelled)

My brother's girlfriend (who is the most upbeat person) came away totally depressed. She said it was one of the most depressing thing she has ever been to.

My sister's boyfiend (a high profile defense attorney here in Denver) shook his head in disbelief that people buy into things like that.

I was happy to get home to my 3 cats, a pot of tea and a movie - and forget that it ever happened.

Did you watch R rated movies when you were in it?

last night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.

at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.

so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.

another in a series of public services for those who have the unenviable task of attending the memorial or any other wt gathering on a rare occasion.... so you're going to the memorial.

it's been a whole year or more since last stepping foot in a kingdom hall.

your going to this meeting probably means that you're going to be with family members who are jw, but understand to some degree your reluctance to come to the hall anymore or have resolved themselves to losing you to armageddon.

This absolutely infuriates me!

This is going to speak right to my exemplary christian parents who regularly associate with their 4 apostate and DF'ed kids. They are in their twilight years and love when we come over on the weekends. When my sister and I were there last weekend making dinner for them, my dad said "It is like an embarrassment of riches having both my daughters with me today." They will be so torn, probably cut us all off for awhile; spending their weekends crying about their lost children and wondering how life went so wrong.

The men that wrote those paragraphs are without a doubt F****** EVIL!!!!!

last friday, a woman i work with, who reminds me of scully from the x-files, asked me to hang out with her and her friends at a watering hole not that far from where we work.

she and her friends get off roughly an hour before i get off, and considering the amount of work i had on my desk at the time, and the amount of time i wasted on here, i knew it'd would be a while before i caught up with them.

so i told her i'll try, but i won't get off until roughly 6:30pm or later.

Get out there and live Misery! The Watchtower wants you to believe it will be one big wild drunken orgy - it is not. Go out and enjoy normal people's company.

once again , i couldn't resist sharing this wt study article from this issue.

it was just too good, or bad - depending on your perspective.

you will see the use of fear and guilt in this information - laying it on witnesses heavy as the title says " christian families - " keep ready " indicating armageddon is so close - so don't get wrapped up in materialism.. right from the get-go in the 1st paragraph fear tactics are used .

Most high school teachers spend time telling their students that they have the brains to go onto college and they should take advantage of the many scholarships that are out there. Next thing you know, the JW kids are bragging to their parents that they are gifted and are being offered a grandiose scholarship, the story is then an assembly part and then it is being printed as absolute truth.

I was madly in love with a boy in my Junior class. We secretly dated for awhile - I was sure he was the one and only. Well my parents up and moved to Colorado, with me in tow. He visited me once and then we lost track of each other. We connected on Facebook about a month ago (28 years have passed). He looks about 400 pounds, unshaven wearing some dirty sweaty baseball cap that says "No Sweat" on it. He looked like something straight off of Hee Haw (and not in a good way). I nearly lost my cookies when I saw the pictures of him.
