I woke up shortly into my 20 year marriage. I went along to get along, but the more I woke up, the more self righteous, hypocritical and mind controlled he became. I probably would have gone along like this forever if it wasn't for having two daughters. Once the pressure was on them to become unbaptized publishers, the clock was ticking and it was only a matter of time before I had to break up my family for the sake of saving my girls from a cult that would have destroyed them. (FYI...They both have good university degrees and live very sweet lives today) -

Embellished assembly interviews/"experiences"
by ab.ortega inoh how wonderful those experiences at assemblies and "schools" are - not.
at times it seemed as if these "experiences" were scripted.
the speaker gets criteria in the outline regarding what the experience or interview has to be about.

I remember in my 8th grade class (about 1980) giving a oral speech about abortion; I read some story out of the Awake magazine. Afterwards a school mate asked me for the source of the article and I gave her the Awake. Fast forward a few months and for some crazy reason (the DO was dating my older sister), I am giving the experience on the circuit assembly. The DO changed the story to ..."I placed all the Awake magazines I had with me with my very interested classmates" -

"Do not speak in a derogatory way about non-witnesses."
I'm sorry, but do these people know any other way to speak about all of us wicked ones that are about to be obliterated by their God?

My parents were at that convention and were engaged to be married. My mother was a regular pioneer and my father was the congregation overseer. They still speak of it as if it was the trip of a lifetime. -

June 2016 WT (study edition) Bashing Higher Education....AGAIN!
by ToesUp inparagraph 14: .
"this means that we need to examine our heart constantly to see if it is being enticed by worldly entertainment, associations, and styles of dress and grooming.
or the love of the world might involve efforts to attain “great things,” such as through the pursuit of higher education.

The GB have a lot of nerve talking about "Great things" when they have their very own private lake that rises and lowers at the touch of a button. -

genuine english guy seeking jw lady
by english_gentleman inhi, i believe that a lady is put on earth to satisfy the needs of her partner and respect his views in all matters.. i realize some here may consider that old fashioned and not based on sexual equality.. yet a lady and man are not created equal because the lady gives birth and the man must sire many children.
if you are a lady under 30 and keen to meet me, willing to cook and breed, then please message me here.
please do not contact me if you disagree with my views, we can agree to differ.

What TV shows were forbidden in your JW household?
by Funchback inin the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..

All the good shows were on meeting nights. Somehow Hee Haw and Little House on the Prairie were always available to watch. I tried to watch Flamingo Road one time, but was caught, grounded and sent to bed. -
