years ago, my son was d'fd and being just a grunt brother, I lost all p rivileges in the congregation becasue he was still living at home. A few months later an elder's son was also d'fd but he kept all of his privileges in the congregation including being an elder and even a talk was given stating that just because one is in this scenario doesn't mean he should be looked down upon and lose his privileges. I was moritfied!

How Many JW Terms Aren't in the Bible?
by jamiebowers inthe following youtube video made by a young person who is unbaptized and hopes to become a publisher says that the word "rapture" isn't in the bible.
a comment on the video says that the words "disfellowship", and "god's organization" aren't in the bible either and that the name jehovah isn't written in the new testament aka greek scriptures.
can we further enlighten this young person as to how many words jws typically use that aren't in the bible?

The new book study arrangement...what it could mean
by undercover ini've heard mentioned in a couple of places the admonition from the society about how the new void left by the discontinuing of the book study night should be filled with spiritual study or family worship instead of tv or just viewing it as a "night off".. this is the new spin on the society dropping that meeting night; "just because we gave you a night off from meetings doesn't mean you get to relax.
you should use this time for family study.
if you don't, then you invite satan into your home through your tv set or dvd player or cd player or internet connection.

No home book study means less and less socialization for everyone. Over the years they have eliminated all sorts of get togethers. Remember the elimination of large social gatherings? Any type of social gathering that may have resulted in uncleaness of some sort was now considered potentially dangerous to have. Over time, people were paranoid of having social gatherings and social gatherings went from little to none. I believe people in general are social people and this change (BS arrangement) will result in people feeling more withdrawn, more lonely and will create the fading away of more members. In turn this will create more guilt trips, in turn destroying self esteem in congregation members, in turn more will miss meetings, in turn will create more guilt trips ect....
I always found the guilt trips they put on people was very bad for your self esteem. Rather than promoting confidence in the congregation as a whole, the guilt trips creates a sense of "I know your guilty you low lifes!" and the feeling that they immediatley don't trust you. So now they have put you in a position of proving it to them and now you feel you have the need to please them, which I found by the way you could never do.

Aren't we as a group smart enough to bring the whole thing down?"
by BonaFide ini realize that i was stuck believing in jw almost all my life.
and that each person has to see the light for themselves.. but it was partly the hypocrisy, partly the internet, partly my brother, ex-jw, and partly thinking on my own that did it.. there are smart enough people on the board, is there anything we can do to bring the whole jw thing down?.
there must me some way, some thing, we can do.

The tower knows this and I heard this from the platform once and they have actually said that the Internet is the Watchtower's greatest threat. The internet is chuck full of information about the society and the history. This history was unknown to me and once you find out all sorts of bells and whistles go off in your head. This historic information is what the society would love to keep hidden.

It was listed that oral and anal sex or mutual masturbation between persons not married to each other also now includes people who are now married. I remember this in one WT lesson and I made a comment in a car group about the artivcle saying "did you notice one thing about that paragraph?" It did not have any scriptural references. It bothered me greatly that the society was giving direction without any scriptural support and you could actually get D/F'd for this.

Standing behind a very large woman during the opening song, I noticed this women's dress was partially stuck up her butt crack. The brother standing beside me probably thinking he was being helpful gently pulled her dress out from her butt, but she turned around and slapped me in the face.
About a month later I saw this brother with a big red mark on the side of his face and asked him what happened. Well, he explained the same scenario to me about this exact same very large woman during the opening song, he noticed this women's dress was once again partially stuck up her butt crack. I said, you didn't do that again did you? He said "Oh No, I didn't!" he said the brother standing beside me did, but I remember how much she didn't like that so I tucked it back in.

Young JW's and divorce
by Anator init's an epidemic!

It's an epidemic! Many young JW's are divorcing. Some say you can't talk young ones out of marrying when they get there minds fixed on it....JW's says that the young ones (when I say young I mean in their teens) think they have all the answers as to why they should get married. HELLO!! JW's are taught that they do have all the answers, this is just a backlash of the teachings. When JW's teach at the doors they don't listen to the householders point of view, because JW's believe they have all the answers and they wonder why young teens feel this way when it comes to marriage!
How many out their have experienced young JW's divorcing?

by Tired of the Hypocrisy inhi everyone, here i come, "from roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.".

Seeing this before, I always found it amazing there was never one elder or pioneer that refused this type of stuff. There was definitely an eliteness to all of this as they were always certain ones excluded from invites. I remember the very hurt faces the next day for those members when they were excluded from these functions.

Looking Back, Was Being A Witness A Worthless Experience To You?
by minimus inwas there anything positive about being a jehovah's witness?

Not totally. I found out that the society or organization or whatever they want to call themselves, will not be there for you when you are in dire straits. Therefore, despite advice, I went back to get my degree taking night courses. Got a great job, good pay, felt better, did better. Could afford things, better suits for the meeting, nicer vehicle for service. When the elders noticed how better I was doing they wanted me to reach out. I thought to myself, ain't that a kick in the head. The majority of elders did have good jobs and pay where I lived. I thought this was a
pre-requisite then to become one, but thought better of it. But that's a whole different story
