i was watching the news last night.
the latest word from the war front is that we should be able to peaceably work out our differences with north korea.
as humiliating as it will be for us to kiss north korea's ass, we will do so because they do have the ability to nuke our west coast.

Not everyone is going to agree all the time. Differing opinions will always come into play.

I have learned never to "expect" anything from anyone.
Noone can ever be sure of someone elses actions or reactions. We have no control over another person and I have learned never to expect anyone to act any "certain" way or to expect anything from them.
People will always react based on how they feel at the moment and their experiences with what you happen to be discussing at that time. We can never be absolutly sure of these things.
I do know that people will always disagree. I guess I have come to expect that, so when people all seem to be on the same page, I am pretty surprised.

to many people, the new year symbolizes hope--a chance to cast away that which has bothered us, and to cultivate all of the things we have dreamt about throughout the year (but never found the energy to do).
i both believe in and love the spirit of the new year, but it is vital for us to remember that the hope we feel now is merely the result of a collective belief in ourselves and in each other.
there is no more opportunity on january 1st than there is on any other day of the year, yet we feel inspired and motivated to change our lives.
