WTS Will Stop Charging Interest on Loans
by doinmypart inthe org will stop charging interest on kh building fund loans effective sep 1, 2008. current loan payment amounts will remain the same so the loans can be paid off sooner.. congregations should continue to donate to the kh building fund, and publishers can donate directly to the fund by sending donations directly to the branch.
congregations are encouraged to forward surplus congregation and operating funds to the branch until the time those funds are needed by the congregation (this was actually read to the congregation...talk about full disclosure).. this is for all branches and congregations, not just the u.s..

recently her form tutor retired and a new teacher arrived.

Sounds like poor classroom management. Probably a new teacher too. Also, the change in teacher could be causng your child to act out. They get very attached to their teachers sometimes, and she could be taking it out on this new teacher. It takes time. The teacher should be reminded that she must bond with the child before she can demand such complete allegiance.

Nothing to worry about! Jehovah will provide. But if you don't make it it's not him it's you. Maybe Jah's spirit is not with you. (That's what I was told when I got back from Bethel after 6 years.) I lived like a dog for years after that hell. Injured back, hernia, carpel tunnel syndrome. No worker's comp.

Not one of your finer posts, Terry. I think in fact this is the very first post I've read of yours that I haven't agreed with wholeheartedly. But I see now that you and I have diverged in a starkly ( and startlingly) different directions. Actually, after reading this post I wouldn't put you and I in the same category philosophically or politically. I seem to have more in common with the religious folk on this issue. A living human is of the exact same value as any other human. I do not buy into the idea that the leader of the free world, for example, is any more valuable than a new born infant born with AIDS in a 3rd world country. Even if by a certain powerful man's death the rest of the whole human race would die and it could be averted by simply killing an innocent, I would just say, "well, I guess we all die." I wouldn't harm an innocent because his value is as exactly as valuable to the overall human experience as anybody else's. And if fate (actually, the playing out of a series of reactions to the question of existence) have it that one die before another, then it should be permitted (if one was a supergod that could control events on earth i mean.) I'm trailing off to sleep now, I;ll continue later...

Great post Terry, as usual! I've been getting in the habit of not using the term god lately. Even if we could prove the existence of some THING out there in never never land, it's an EVEN LARGER leap to say that that "blob" is a god. So, as a race, we have not proven ANYTHING to exist out there. This preempts us from ever even broaching the subject of god by default. Only AFTER we prove SOMETHING is out there can we begin to describe it to the point that we learn that it is not "not God" and that it is a god. Then we have to assess whether that god is THE god. Another fantastic leap into the void.
In other words, we are a hell of a long way from proving a blob's existence. Therefore we are even farther from (and infinitely short on facts regarding) proving a god-monkey exists. -

Does anyone know the process for moving someone's publisher card to another hall? Do the "brothers" have to talk with the secretary of the new hall?
Would it be possible to set up an arrangement where we could provide a service for those entrenched in a judicial case, a phone number and address and phony congregation number to have publisher cards sent there? Has anybody ever thought of this?
To what extent do elders check out the congregation that someone is moving to? Ex-elder comments welcome.
