  though i've never been an elder (thank god), i was raised by one and know several.

  it has been my observation that there is a tremendous amount of politics on bodies of elders.

  this is probably not a news flash to most of you.. there is a saying that "academic politics are so bitter because the stakes are so low.

  first one in at least 5 years.......wife does not want to sit in and i just told her if she does not, then i am not either.....this loss of faith thingy has really been rough on our marriage.......i have decided to not bring up a single issue i have........i will relate to them my illustration of the taxi driver who keeps giving out bad directions i posted yesterday.......i think what will surprise them maybe is that my loss of faith goes way beyond wt.......i have lost virtually faith in the bible and god......one has already told the "first place to start is to get going to the meetings again!"....lmao!!!.........

  i hope their programed brains can grasp that maybe you need faith in a god first.....then find out what method (or book) he is using to educate us if he wants to....and then if you feel the need....look around to find out if there is a group of folks who all have similar beliefs.........this should be interesting...........oompa.

  sure the wt deceived you with its claim to be god's channel but why for so many is there a subsequent loss of faith in god ?

  it puzzles me and makes me wonder why they were jw's in the first place..

  I think that you loose your faith in god due to being brainwashed while in the witnesses. They have told you all the flaws in other religions. This leads to you not trusting any other faith. When you discover the flaws in the witness faith you are left with very little to believe in.

  former teacher jailed for trying to abduct girl in holywellmar 12 2009 by our correspondent, western mail.

  a former teacher, businessman and senior jehovahs witness who tried to abduct a five-year-old was yesterday jailed for six years.. robert edward bill, 54, was told by a judge that he was still in denial about his predatory interest in young children despite a series of convictions.. he has been found guilty at separate trials of the attempted abduction of the girl in holywell two years ago, of indecently assaulting a seven-year-old 10 years ago, and of possessing 730 pornographic images of children.. prosecuting at caernarfon crown court, simon medland described how the girl had been returning home from a playground when bill, for malign purposes, drew up in his car and asked: have you seen a cat?.

  by chance the girls uncle arrived at the scene at that moment and her mother, who had been watching from a window, ran to her.. mr medland said bill of the roe, st asaph, denbighshire, had been driving slowly around areas where he was likely to come into contact with children that same day.

  the world is a sick place but what I find even more sickening is the use people make of this to their own anti-witness ends I only hope the readers are not foolish enough to believe you only find pedophiles in Jw congregations as you would have them believe and so be to trusting of other churches or orgs which have equal amounts of preditors to keep your children safe from.
  Your blinkers blind you to the damage you do by not seeing this as a world-wide problem for safe-guards to be taken in all aspects of our lifes when we have kids.
  I was talking to a woman today in my childs swiming class she had what I thought was her 3 year old son with her we were just chatting I said the usual 'he looks like you' and she said 'Oh no i'm fostering and hopefully adopting soon' then she sigh sadly and says quietly ' he was a victim of his father sexually. they had to get him away the mother didn't stop the dad'. the little boy is tiny I was horrified and this was not a witness setting at all

  i know someone who doesn't believe the j-dub doctrines but anytime he talks to a non-witness about religion he takes on this arrogant attitude that.

  the witnesses know more about the bible than any other religion.

  blue whale is the largest animal on earth,.... it would take huge cranes and a lot of manpower to carry one of those animals,.... how did noah achieve this?.

  did he have cranes and chains?.

  did he have a large enough aquarium on board, with salt water?.

  lol the noah story just does not make sense from a logistical standpoint . for example 1 elephant alone eats 300 to 600 lbs of food a day.

  ....but there are a few who insist on just being plain nasty for no reason.. so, i am leaving for a while to concentrate on other stuff that i need to do.

  right now, it is a degree of negativity that i just don't need in my life.

  if you cannot post about even a benign subject without getting vicious comments it is time for a break.
