Well I Just Got Let Go! :(

as of this morning at 6 am est, my boss came in to the store where i worked and told me that since "business was slow", he had no choice but to let me go.. .

i asked him why did he hire that new employee last week if business was slow??

he just looked at the counter and would not answer me.

A Newbie Comment......

i'm a newbie, but have been reading this board for quite a while.

i have never been a jw nor anyone in my family, so i feel like i don't quite fit in with all of you, but hope you'll welcome me.

i have done extensive research and study of the watchtower teachings.

I briefly scanned the many posts you have recieved so far.......and I didnt see anyone mention the book Crisis of Conscience ( I could be wrong but I didnt see it mentioned) it is written by Ray Franz who was a member of the governing body. You can order it at Freeminds.org

The book is a good read for you and for your son.......I doubt your DIL will even want to see the book in your hands or your son's hands......but it is a good source of information you may be looking for.

I wish you luck with your son..........but just understand the more you push a JW......the more they will fight you. Patience is hard when dealing with this kind of situation.........but more often then not has been the best approach.

i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.

all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.

i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.

pattern recognition by william gibson has to be one of the coolest books i've read recently!.

it's about a woman who inhabits a board much like this one, complete with flame wars and long, lengthy posts, where people gather who are interested in a series of clips released by an anonymous filmmaker.

Beer survey

what brand of suds does everyone drink here?

i personally enjoy good ole' bud light.

but if i have to be cheap i do sacrifice taste for quanity and buy keystone ice (ack).

I like Bud Light, and I also like Bud Ice, and Shiner Bock too.

When I have to go cheap........I go with Nautural Light.

I did however have a mixture of beers at this pool hall not long ago that was really good.......it was half of a Pear flavored beer (cant remember the name of it) and the other half was Guiness........I normally hate Guiness......but mixed half and half with the Pear beer it was really good.

it has been a while since i was able to log on and spend time going over topics.

i am sorry that i backed out at the last minute with the secrect santa.

due to family obligations, landlords wanting their house back and job changes, i didnt have the time to spend to myself.. i know you are all dying to hear my good news.................. as a lot of you know, i miscarried the middle of last year.

he couldnt cope with the pressure

if all of you remember when my cousin and i stood alone to fight the stupidity of my family's thinking it now came to an end.. he told me yesterday that his wife wants to reconcile their marriage and she is getting baptised in feb..her family pressured her to do this he said, but now that he decided to reconcile he started attending the meetings last week.

he also stated that he was so bitter that he wasnt invited to his sister wedding that he would get reinstated so it will never happen again.. his exact words were, " i hate the stigma that was placed on me.

i cant enjoy my family or do anything even with my wife.

I am sorry your cousin has decided to give in to this pressure.

I guess all you can do is hope for the best for him. It is his choice and there is nothing you can really do to stop this from happening.
