i knew some parents who really beat the hell out of their kids.

seems like when i was a kid, you could'nt go to a meeting without hearing screams of pain from either the b room or the bathrooms.
I remember getting beating outside of the hall pretty often. My father was an elder and would take his belt off and beat me with it right outside the hall, sometimes he would take me out the side door if it was closer.
I too remember the whole "stop crying or I will beat you again".
Then of course I would get it at home too if my behavior was "poor" at the KH.
It was just a normal thing to see at my Hall.

well, its time for stock shows and cfb has shown her first pig at the city stock show.
she won the blue riboon and got a spot in the county stock show this coming weekend.
i am hoping to make it down for this weekend, but that may not happen.

this may be a long read.... my old roommate and i made a "break" from the lie.
we moved away to another town.
i will not mention which town just incase he is lurking..... he was a nice guy.
I really don't know what to say on this............only in the past I found myself making up stories for ppl to find me interesting, you know to just kinda "add" to a story.
I have never lied about abuse though.

I hope you don't blame yourself for not talking to him after such a big lie........that is a bit over the top to say your mother has cancer when she doesn't.
I would have done the same thing you did honey...........it is normal to not want to be around someone who lies to this degree.

yes, i did it.. after the thread in which i asked how i could possibly tell my jw mum that i'm pagan....i decided to take the bull by the horns and tell her.. her reaction made me wonder if she reads this board.. firstly, to "ease" her in, i mentioned that i'm doing a course in reiki.
reiki is a complimentary therapy - basically hands on healing.
well, she said she knew a little about reiki and thought it was a good idea.
