  Something creepy during a study

  so, the local jw troops have stepped up my study because i have had a difficult time swallowing the "truth", and have sent a ms to speed things along.

  he mentioned satan tempting eve, and i said i had never read that.

  sure, so there is a serpent tempting eve in genesis 3, but no satan.

  You could ask a little simple question. Wich woe introduces the birth of God's Kingdom, according to Revelation? Well, he should know but if not, tell him that it's the 3:rd woe. Then ask, according to the Revelation do we not live in the 2:ond woe? So where is the birth of God's Kingdom? Tell him if he do not understand, that's in the future.

  Here's a modern day example. Back in the 50's, some sisters found out that they were married to homosexuals and some even had children by these immoral men. When they found out, they were appalled and they wrote to headquarters. During that time, however, it was not understood that homosexuality was considered fornication. So the response to these sisters from headquarters was that if they divorce, they were not free to remarry. So these sisters were in somewhat a dilemma. They were not happy. They could not stand to even look at these men, but what could they do? Headquarters had spoken. Sad situation. However, these sisters kept praying to Jehovah and begged his help. Jehovah heard those prayers and answered them. He caused his organization to take in depth look a the word porneia, translated fornication and they found that, yes, homosexuality falls under that umbrella, that these men are just as sin-sick as if they would have been if they committed adultery and yes, our sisters could choose to divorce these men and remain free to remarry if they wanted to. It took time, it took a lot of time, but Jehovah answered these prayers.

  for those attending, a couple of possible comments for the service meeting.

  there is a "2009 yearbook" part where the audience gets to gush over the statistics that they found interesting.

  how bout "i was really impressed with the number of memorial partakers last year, with an increase of about 10% over last year and nearly 10,000 partakers, it looks like we will be privileged to have many anointed with us for some time" or.

  I would suggest them just to put tracts in all mailboxes twice a year. Those who are intersted could anyway easily come in contact.

  Is it not exactly that the Revelation vision about the cavalery means? The litterature which is spread means two miriads of miriads, = 200 millions.

  In this vision the cavalry man sits quietly on the horse, and it is the horse which talks, by fire from its mouth and by biting with the tail.

  I think every witness would like a such change!

  My answer: Using the bible, you can crush the date 1914.

  It is a sin and misstake to try to calculate the timepoint of God's Kingdom's establishment, as well as to predict the time point of the battle of Armageddon.

  The apostles asked Jesus: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" 7 He said to them: "It does not belong to you to get knowledge of times and seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction; -Acts 1:6,7

  Apostle Paul reaffirmed the principle in 1 Thessalonians 5:1: Now as for times and seasons, brothers, you need nothing to be written to you.

  But a witness would point to the coincidence of the First World War in 1914. But the simple coincidence in calculating the year 1914 is a result of their disobedience. Satan then lead the nations to go to war that year, in order to make the Watchtower society believe that they did not sin in guessing about times ad seasons. Watchtower-society had just got rid of many false teachings and understood the Bible surely in the best way compared to other societies. So of course Satan had to try to deceive them in some way. And it has worked until now.

  Hi Bangalore,

  I agree with you. But to make it work properly they should replace all bad evil wolflike shepards and let nice loving spiritual men take their place. Instead of God's organization they should call it only as christian congregation. And losen the control over individual congregations. Because if spiritual men would take the lead in each congregation, then Jesus Christ would be able to lead them by his spirit and the already written word, the Bible. That is how it was meant to be. Christ to be the Head of the congregation.

  About 2 years ago a Bethel brother about 30-35 years old had a talk in our congregation about what it means that the end is near. It's the first time I have heard, but he explained that the word near means relatively near. Then he explained why. He talked about prophet Isaiah or was it Sephaniah who predicted that the destruction of Babylon or Jerusalem was near. But it was 200 years ahead. The speaker explained that it's similar today. Near is a relative word.

  I have payed that God protects him so that he will not get in trouble. And still he works at bethel and has strange talks at assemblies.

  Interesting too see what follows.

  You know there are a lot of terrorists who do not care if they will die. I believe some terrorists would blow up all Israel together with their cobelievers if they just got some nuclear weapons.

  This sounds horrible, but according to Bible prophesy in Hezekiel 38, Jehovah God will gather people to Israel. But how will they get a place there? The Scripture says that, before that these places have been devastated.

  8 “‘“After many days you will be given attention. In the final part of the years you will come to the land [of people] brought back from the sword, collected together out of many peoples, onto the mountains of Israel, that have proved to be a constantly devastated place; even [a land] that has been brought forth from the peoples, [where] they have dwelt in security, all of them.

  So, if, or as I believe when, Israel has been emptied out of Israelies and Palestinians, it will remain devastated for a long time. But then after this Jehovah God will gather believers in Christ to Israel. They will form the new Israel. Israel in a more spiritual manner.

  I think many of you who read this think propably that I am crazy. But if you believe in Ezekiel 38:8,12, then you should draw this conclusion.

  ok...we had a couple over today for a bible study.

  very interesting conversation and quite enlightening.

  we really wanted to be able to discuss the fallacy of the society based on it's own history.. skipped the intro and dove directly in to their watchtower of jan 15/09, back page.

  Next time couldn't you show them Revelation Climax-book page 220 §22, it says:

  "22 The final three trumpet blasts were different, for they were called woes. (Revelation 8:13; 9:12) The first two of these consisted particularly of the locusts and the armies of cavalry, while the third introduced the birth of Jehovah’s Kingdom. (Revelation 9:1-21; 11:15-19) As we shall see, the final three bowls of his wrath also cover some of these aspects, but they are somewhat different from the three woes. Let us now pay close attention to the dramatic disclosures that result from the pouring out of the bowls of Jehovah’s anger."

  So, the Revelation Climax-book tells that we live in the time of the second woe. But the third woe is introduced by the birth of God' Kingdom. This shows that the birth of God's Kingdom has yet not happened. The year 1914 must therefore simply be false.

  How to explain them the First World War? Just tell them that Satan must have influenced the nations to get that war to decieve Russell and his associates that his predictions were true in some way. So that the deception would live a long time.

  For instance this should be a possible thought, because Rutherford said in the Watchtower that Satan had fooled them to believe that jews are still God's special people.
