OrphanCrow - "a little worried about something". They also had a theme of staying in the "spiritual protection" of Jehovah('s organization), which was repeated several times in different segments.

Does anyone know what it means to be "securely wrapped up in the bag of life"? Is this a new special WT terminology? They said it or a slight variant of it, several times in the broadcast, perhaps 3? I know that JWs assert that everything they put out is "Bible based" but i don't remember seeing that phrase in Scripture.
Does this sound appealing to be wrapped up in a bag, even if it is the bag of life? Are they just getting even weirder lately?
Thanks ahead of time for any insight anyone may be able to provide.

Using history as a means to pinpoint possible future events.
by HealthySkeptic inthe purpose of this thread is to share some history with the community.
i am an active jw.
the reason i picked this forum is due to the openness and ease with which information can be accessed.

Martin Luther was a staunch Trinitarian, so i have no idea how he could be classified by any JW or the WT as a "witness of Jehovah." Although CTR did say he was one of the Messengers of the church. -- Your post is probably far too long to get many responses on this type of forum. Cheers!

Anyone with a library card can get it through "inter Library Loan". This is an amazing service, which will get any in print book for you, if they can, even from out of state, etc. Our library's web site even enables you to put in a request online!

What a dumb thing to have done!
by Fernando inat times i want to kick myself for mindlessly letting the "god of religion" teach me about the "god of abraham" for more than 40 years.
what was i thinking?.
then again i was a third generation born-in who simply and naively believed the "reality" i was presented with, whilst unknowingly being held captive by spiritually blind, confused, inebriated and insane watchtower religionists in a mental prison with invisible bars..

Fernando, When JWs tell me that the NT Epistles are written to and for the 'anointed' class, i think of this verse in Galatians:
"Those false teachers are so eager to win your favor, but their intentions are not good. They are trying to shut you off from me so that you will pay attention only to them." Gal.4:17, NLT
The org has convinced the Witnesses that the WT publications have more direct relevance for them than the New Testament itself.
I love your list of contrasts! Cheers!

Yes, i did get to talk to the guy with the sign. He was polite, but didn't want to chat much. He has a philosophy of just wanting to present the sign, and thinks i'ts more effective if he's mostly silent.
They seemed a little befuddled when i didn't 'obey' them and laughed at them. But they kept trying by invading my space and acting all intimidating. weirdos. -- Another time two elders came to my house , because i asked some questions of ladies at a literature table, and made an appointment with them. Instead of the ladies, these elders showed up to kiss me off, and said the ladies won't be talking with me any more, basically. -- They had the same aura, like they thought they were someone. It's really astounding to someone on the outside, they seem like someone with narcissist personality disorder.

I've attended parts of the JW Convention here in Tucson as an outsider a few times, because through circumstances i became interested in the org and its theology. I saw a lone guy with a sign; he was completely silent. So i wanted to chat with him, and find out who he was and tell him i agreed with his sign, etc. (BTW,i was wearing a dress) Well, i was astounded when suddenly two of those usher/thugs started hovering around me and the sign guy, and really got into my personal space! And there was a third one a few feet away. They were so creepy, saying things to me like - what are you doing, sister? Time to just go on in now. I started laughing at them, it was pathetic!
One actually tried to interpose himself between me and the guy with the sign! Now, remember i wasn't protesting or doing anything else.
The guy in the video had an immediate family member in the org for many years, if that gives some context.

Preaching to a Captive Audience in CostCutters!!
by AuntBee inso, i'm sitting in the waiting area, and there's this one lady getting one of those long procedures involving color, etc.
so, as the stylist is working on her, i can overhear her preaching to her stylist about demons and immortality of the soul, from wt lit, using her ipad!
she was talking about the topics, referencing the proof verse, and then asking the programmed questions!.

Going back later with a jwfacts flyer for that young stylist, so she can get the whole picture... It was hard to tell what the stylist thinking, she had to be polite. wow.

THE TWO BABYLONS as a template for Watch Tower dishonesty in history
by Terry inproof isn't proof at the watchtower.
"proof" is a reconstruction like frankenstein's monster kept alive by flashes of "new light" made up as needed to revitalize a quivering monstrosity.. at first glimpse it looks like science.
when the smoke clears it is madness and obsession riven with fierce contrarian nincompoopery.. ****.
