possible san says;
"I interpret the Bible entirely symbolically and figuratively."
This is probably in my top 5 of ridiculous things I've read on this forum. Was Jesus raised from the dead "symbolically and figuratively"?
i just watched this .
nbc jehovah's witnesses child sexual abuse.
whilst watching i was draw to the ntw romans 10:13 which was on the wall.. never having been in a "kingdom hall" is this on the wall in every kingdom hall?.

ive recently been looking at a non-jw tract this was an interesting paragraph.
watchtower 1st 1954 page 31. there we read "jehovahs witnesses are proud of the fact that they have eliminated from their song books, songs praising jesus (revelation, its grand climax at hand, page 36)".
i was in the org.
Ehp 4: 8 Wherefore he says: “When he ascended on high he carried away captives; he gave gifts [in] men.”
Paul is here writing about Jesus. He is quoting;
Psalm 68: 18 You have ascended on high;
You have carried away captives;
You have taken gifts in the form of men, Yes, even the stubborn ones, to reside [among them], O Jah God.
So, Paul attributes a verse in the Psalms about Jah God (Jehovah?) to Jesus.
However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jehovah is God the Father. They consistently put Jesus into a subordinated position to Jehovah, even choosing to give more honour to Jehovah than to Jesus.
If Jehovah is the God the Father, how does this affect the Jehovah's Witness refusal to honour Jesus;
John 5: 22 For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son, 23 in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

@ possible - I never understand your posts, so I'm sorry if I don't even try to interpret what you're trying to say.
i have emailed to 55 active dubs in the area...8 have bounced back undeliverable.
so count me down for .5 hours witnessing time.
:).
@ isaac - exactly.

Jesus said we need to honour him just as we honour the Father. If we don't honour the Son, we're not honouring the Father.
Removing honour from Jesus actually removes honour from the Father, whom JWs believe to be Jehovah.
the following quote is taken from the article is it wrong to change your religion?
in the july 2009 awake p29:
no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.
Hi Steve, welcome! You now have the same realisation as me! This is exactly what we hope our families will feel when they read this Awake magazine. Our question is, how can they go from door-to-door offering the July 2009 Awake magazine knowing that JWs are forced to choose between their beliefs and their family.

@ scully - "And they get to be moral cowards precisely because they have absolutely NO accountability to anyone. "
Which is why I'm pressing in on my father to write to the Org for 'clarification'. If they - the Governing Body and the R&F JWs - aren't challenged on these sort of things, if we just let articles like this drift down the river without waving them under the noses of the R&F JWs, how will the Org ever be held to account for their disastrous double-speak?
i stumbled across this on another site.
believe me, i take it with a grain of salt; it's 2nd & 3rd hand info (the poster does acknowledge this fact) but it is interesting none the less.

@ steve - I enjoy your posts too, but I'm not going to agree with you on certain topics, so I'll challenge you on them as I expect you to challenge me on mine.

@ steve = "Well, whether or not they are rumors, the internet is the perfect medium for turning them into "truth". Take one cup of wishful thinking...."
If the internet had been about in the 1980s, how many cups of wishful thinking would you have needed then?
Enjoy your snooze.
