I haven't been to a convention since 2008, however I drove up to Perth in '09 to scope out the convention venue. After being out for a year by that point I was struck by how uniform the JWs looked as they walked to the convention venue. They believe theyre giving a "fine witness" by the way they dress and groom, but they looked like robots. Mindless, cookie cutter robots. Which is, after all, what many of them are.

Expressions on faces at DC/RC
by BU2B ini have become more observant at the last couple district conventions of jws faces and enthusiasm and it seems to be very somber.
i remember a couple of years ago i was an attendant at one of the upper sections at the blue cross arena in rochester, ny and in afternoon session at least half were curled up with their eyes closed, some with blankets.
the applause seems very forced and mechanical.

They all look fucking thrilled at the possibility Jehovah God Almight (cousin of Bruce) might care about them. Thrilled.

Regarding this article, and the mindset behind it, 2 words; junk food. What's god's view on that?

ONE REASON
by snare&racket inout of interest, and to formulate a cordial chat, would you give your top one reason for your belief or non belief?.
my foremost 'one reason' for non belief is:.
the historical evidence that provides an explination and timeline for how the modern religious doctrine's and dogma developed over time.. .

Non-belief; lack of evidence of any supernatural being matching the descriptions provided in holy books.

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

Since 2008 I've stated that the long game for the GB will be to lose the fence sitters. It's easier for them to manage a smaller core group of die-hards who will obey at all costs than it is to control a 6 million+ mixed bag of fence sitters. Financially it makes more sense, and with control of the brick and mortar assets, they can stretch out their reign for a while longer (what's the average age of the GB?) and weather any legal precedents set by the Candice Conti ruling.
The rebranding is already underway, along with the more passive, almost wallpaper-like method of preaching via the literature stands. Look at the new tract with the trademarked JW.Org logo and the removal of the Watchtower iconography.
We we already know the Mormons have taken a similar route in terms of reinventing the religion (up to a point; search for "I'm a LDS" videos), directing attention to their web presence, which has been copied almost wholesale by the GB.
Jehovah's Witnesses 2.0 is long overdue, just like Armageddon.

Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. Governing Body says forget that, fire up JW.Org on your iPhone.

I've zero sympathy for anyone in this religion. If they find it hard, if they have doubts, but they choose to stay in, they deserve everything coming their way from the governing body.
As as for the die hardshiphardship who choose to believe regardless of any info presented to them, f*ck em.
