There is no PROOF that Russel was a Freemason. Although he spoke highly of them, there has been much dicussion on this board and there is no actual proof he was a mason. The Cemetary Russel was burried on was not a Masonic center t the time he was burried. Granted, I was raised a witness and was a very 'spiritually strong' sister in my congregation. I felt NOTHING could shake my faith in th GB or society. Summer 08 was a turning point for me. I cried and cried prayed and prayed, WHY ??? This CAN'T be true! THIS CAN'T BE TRUE??? I embarked on a research journey. You cannot believe everything you hear and read on the internet, however the most accurate truth is found there as well.

Butterfly, be careful what you decifer as true. Do your research and don't trust everyone. There are a lot of good people on this site, that helped me. It's scary coming out not knowing what is real and what to believe! It's scary thinking for yourself. I know!

99 out of 100 jws won't be able to spot the jest ---- why??.

because they are mentally conditioned thru 5 mind control meetings per week to ignore jests of any kind.. (the gb would never allow jests in the artwork).

I agree we all have a unique story, but one thing about this site that helped me the most this past year, is, it's like a family in a way. The support on here I couldn't have done without. I've grown so much as a person I cannot believe it.

Leavingwt: I got your PM, sending you my letter as I write this. It's long, so it takes a while to upload to an email.

Again: Anyone else want to read it, it's VERY personal, however has MUCH information and quotes that I've verified thru the WT CD's, and other help from a few on this site.

Wow it's been forever since I've posted. I've healed a lot since my first post last year. My mom still shuns me, and I phone her when I'm drunk crying for her...and well it always ends in a fight. I hate it.

I did write my long letter to my mom, despite the warnings I got from everyone on this site. Maybe I should have listened to some of you and not written 80 pages to her...lol. Needless to say, they didnt read all of it, and just dismissed as we're imperfect and the 'society' makes mistakes.

I love to write, and have been thinking of writing a book on my life. Not only as a JW, but just in general. Most of it would be kind of a biography without my real name, and the latter of it will include my findings out about this obsurd religion!

What do you think?

After reading this post, I typed in YHWH in the WT cd rom. This is from the Rbi8 which I think is the Reasoning book but not sure. This point in bold caught my eye when they say "While many translators favor the pronunciation "Yahweh," the NewWorldTranslation continues to use the form "Jehovah" because of people’s familiarity with it for centuries. Moreover, it preserves, equally with other forms, the four letters of the divine name, YHWH or JHVH.—"

Are they basically saying that they pronounce Jehovah as that because it is common, accepted and has familiarity? Hmmm. I'd stick to plain ol YHWH then as there is not as much controversy to that name.

I have severe asthma, it was worse when I was a kid, and I've died twice. Once when I was 12, and 16. Creepy.

First century governing body?

my anointed step dad always mentions about how the first century christians had a governing body also.

where in the bible does it actually say that?

to me governing body is just a dictatorship of men who think they are right and can control, no different than the governments....governing body set rules, and ultimately decide your future as far as i'm concerned.

Thanks for all your comments. This forum is so amazing. I just didn't see a dictatorship like the JW GB back then, I don't think Jesus would have approved. YOu are all great:)
