Banned from my sisters wedding

i'm feeling rejected and hurt because i've just been informed that i am not invited to my little sisters wedding.

first, here's a little background story on my relationship with her: she and i are three years apart.

when we were younger we were very close (i was in the "truth" back then).

okay... help... i'm feeling weak right now... i haven't spoken to my dub in 6 weeks, still not over him, still thinking about him far more than i should... anyway... when we were talking, he got me going to meetings (we live in diff places) and a nice pioneer lady took me under her wing.

i gave his email addy to the lady and they correspond.

so, me and the dub had a falling out when i told him all of the issues i had with the wts.

Do jumping castles count as buildings? I would be a jumping castle because....well, they are silly and encourage bouncing. Bouncing is a seriously under-rated activity.

Why is it not enough for them?

why is it not enough for witnesses when you tell them that you made the choice not to be a witness yourself and for you, and your family if you have one?

surely they must see that its not quick, rushed, evil or anything if they take into consideration that it affects whether or not you live forever, how you live and all kinds of things and that a matter of life and death from their perspective and yours isnt made lightly?.

i love my wife and son and my mother.

I've been struggling with this lately too. I find this following statement puts things into perspective a little for myself -

"My mum is a member of a dooms-day cult"

That pretty much sums it up.

Hi Megs, I really don't think you should speak to her at all. She may well be a nice lady, but you have to remember that she believes that she HAS to convert you - bring you into the fold - for you to be in the 'new system'. That is her priority. You are not her priority.

As Void said earlier - this is not unconditional love you are dealing with here. Void's comments were harsh - but sadly they were entirely correct. So thanks Void for pinning down the underlying issues at work in this situation.

You cannot just be a friend with a witness. They will always have an agenda which has nothing to do with your actual well-being. Their job is to preach preach preach....even when it just seems like friendly conversation ... they are still trying to find the right angle to attack you from. - whether that is an intellectual attack, an emotional, spiritual or psychological attack. Any time you are in contact with them they are thinking about how they can best get you involved.

I think it's really better for your own sense of peace to cut all contact and ties with these people. As has been suggested before - don't read the emails - just delete. And make sure you fill up your social calander with all sorts of silly escapades and celebrate your freedom.
