Circuit assembly tid bit

another way of saying this would be...stop thinking and listen to us.

this is something that i am having a really tough time with and have spoken to the elders about several times.

it would seem to make sense that i would be able to get reasonable answers to some questions, and if not they could at least be honest and say "i don't know".

Something else that I caughtat the CA was, they kept using the phrase, "Stop letting lingering doubts concern you"

There is a place called "Five Guys" in the Eastern part of the States that is awesome, best burger anywhere. pLus they have hand cut fries

Baptism numbers decreasing?

the last 3 weekends have seen 3 circuit assemblies in victoria with over 1000 attending each circuit.

yet only 10 baptised over the last 3 weeks, including 3 last weekend.

i can remember a few years ago when only 1 bro was baptised at a 2 day convention.. its funny, when 10-20 were being baptised at each circuit assembly back in the 1980s & early 90s it was always brought out that this was a sign of jehovahs blessing upon the org.

Recent assembly

1) stop using internet,facebook,myspace,email,texting and spend more time studying and in service.. my mate quit their facebook page when we came home lol.

2) maybe i am just more tuned into it now, but they mentioned "apostate" a lot more this time around, espicially when talking about the internet.. it keeps me thinking, if there is nothing to hide, then why is there such a big push not to look?

it's like an ugly girlfriend not wanting her boyfriend to look at the girls on the beach .

i was never thrilled to have a meeting during inclement weather.

if it was seriously snowing and the weatherman suggested to stay in because of the conditions, i rarely went to the meeting.

why take a chance, right?

Volunteer work and preaching - It's a lie

it hit me the other day, when a jw goes to a door and says, we are doing a volunteer work today.... .

no they arent.

they have to go in service every month as a requirement to stay in the club, if not, they become inactive or irregular.

NO THEY AREN’T. They have to go in service every month as a requirement to stay in the club, if not, they become inactive or irregular.

Volunteer means that you do it when you want. If they don’t do it, they will eventually be shunned as someone who is inactive

"holding out hope" or"coming back to Jah"

omfg i can't stand it anymore.. i am so sick of hearing and reading things from my family that says that they are "holding out hope" that i will come back.

or they say that they are praying to jehovah that i will come back.. what other religion is so crazy that they say these things?!?!?!?!

if a buddhist person decides not to go to their church anymore, do their parents/family bombard them with this crap?

WHAT OTHER RELIGION is so crazy that they say these things?!?!?!?! If a buddhist person decides not to go to their church anymore, do their parents/family bombard them with this crap? What about a Jew or whatever?

I understand that they are brainwashed and all, but geez, they don't realize that they are making THEMSELVES nuts over something that is not worth it. My family is litteraly driving themselve crazy with all of the worrying that they have for me. Yes, I appreciate their concern, but geez, I can't imagine that a protestant family would go to the lengths that the Dub's go to in their crying and depression when one of their family members says that they don't want to sit in the kingdum hall for another boring talk about the same old crap.
