There are field service groups that are about the same size as the old book study groups and an elder is in charge of each group. From what I understand, they don't want any groups meeting at the khall, just homes.

First "Big Meeting" for our hall was tonight
by Iwonder17 inso we hadour first big meeting tonigh ( bookstudy, ministry school and service meeting ) here are my observations:.
1) even though it is the same amount of time, it seemed verrrrry long.
2) it seemed like a circus.....too many parts that did not relate to the others....seemed like a crossword puzzel with 6 different languages.

So we hadour first big meeting tonigh ( Bookstudy, ministry school and service meeting ) Here are my observations:
1) Even though it is the same amount of time, it seemed verrrrry long
2) It seemed like a circus.....too many parts that did not relate to the others....seemed like a crossword puzzel with 6 different languages
3) I'm sure it will get more fluid in time, but the whole meeting was awkward and the elduhs giving the parts kept saying things like, " With the new arrangment, we need to keep our comments short" or "with the new arrangment, we only have time for xxxx"......It just seemed rushed
4) During the bookstudy I noticed that very few kids were called on. After the meeting I talked with the one conducting the study and he said the the Org gave them instructions on how to handle the meeting, he seemed kind of uncomfortable talking about it. It seemed like he was trying to say, "Yeah, we can't call on too many kids since we don't have a lot of time"
4b) Talking about the kids, I think this will be very bad for young ones and shy ones since now they will never want to comment
I just sat back with a smile on my face watching the madness unfold

I had a similar thought. If you skip one, then you are just "going to church on Sunday" like the rest of the "world"
Now the big thing is, "If you miss Tuesday, then your missing 1/2 of the meetings, you wouldn't want to do that"
I'm sure there will be TONS of parts on the Ministry school, assemblies and CO visits about this

Oompa...
I did forget to mention that I also go the the KH for my BS and not someone's home, so my viewpoint is a little slanted. I agree, growing up, we always had one in my house and it was nice when our friends would stay for a while afterwards. The KH BS's are just plain boring...

So I went to our "last" book study night last night. There were actually people crying during the last prayer !!!! OMG
What's funny is that we had the biggest "goodie night" afterwards that we have ever had. What a joke, you know that everyone is loving the fact that they get a night off now going forward.
Also, both prayers were full of things like " what a kind provision" and "the GB knows best and they are helpingus by doing this"

Noah and the flood
by Iwonder17 inok, so i have been watching a show on the discovery channel about noah and it got me thinking....let's say that the whole world was covered in a floor about 6000 years ago.
is it even possible to have the earth populate itself in just 6000 years?
also, and more interesting, how can all of the different breads of animals get to all of the contenants and repopulate themselves in that short amount of time as well???

Meetings canceled and double standard
by Iwonder17 ini live ina cold area where meetings are canceled from time to time.
i find it very funny that even the most "faithful" dubs sit in anticipation by the phone waiting for the call that the mtg has been canceled.
you would think that they would be disappointed since one of their meals is being cut off ( or one of their fingers as the old illustration goes )
