As a JW Did you Feel you Could Fully Trust the Elders ?

or should i say i was conditioned to feel that " i should " trust the elders.
as jehovah's witnesses we were all told the elders were " crags in a waterless country " who would be a " spiritual stronghold " for us.

No, they never helped when my husband was giving us the crap. One elder I knew and kind of looked up to beat the shit out of his wife, she had to go to a women's shelter. Long story he go booted out the door, they divorced, he remarried, and yes he and his new wife are back at some hall and he is in good standing. Small world of sorry people.

What steps did you take to stop your association with the congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhen i finally knew that the wts didn't have the truth,i decided to take steps to slow down and become an inactive member.
( i still have my whole family in.......so..... i prefer to remain inactive).

Just took my son by the hand and walked out before they let my dead beat husband say prayer. The jerk wasn't even supporting the family. Best part of it is they never even asked why I left.

This man who is in his mid 60's and been at the hall for over 36 years knows nothing about this subject. I told him the next time he was in the hall library to look it up. Bet he won't find any info on the subject. I challenged him on the Nov. Watchtower page 13 that tell you not to leave your mate if you become a witness how Jehovah hates a divorce. The book keeping yourself in gods love page 221 says you can get a legal divorce. My husband was talking out of both sides of his mouth, just like to org. He told me he has placed this book at homes, yet he has not read it himself. Told me the bible says you can seperate, but I told him it doesn't say LEGAL SEPERATION. Then I asked him is the god you serve stupid, or is it just you. Is there anythng else I can spring on him that he probably doesn't know about??? I will need all the facts. I love this I never thought I would ever look into a watchtower or awake, but I even read it to him. Probably won't sleep tonight after reading that. Left him with something to think about.

by truthseeker intoday was the first of the two parter series on browbeating the inactive to get back to the meetings.. my other half who has been inactive for a short while received an email from a "friend" who's still in, acknowledging it's been a while since they last made contact and could they stop by to see how we're doing?.
the moment of truth - friends who ignore you and make no effort to contact you when you leave suddenly get a guilt trip over an article in the watchtower.. anyone else here had their door bell rung, received a phone call or email from a "concerned" friend due to this study article, or is it still early days?.

I walked out 24 years ago and received a call about a year ago. They probably don't want to bother because my husband is still their slave. Just let them call me or knock on my door. They will get a ear full of all this bottled up hate I have for them.

my son. when they come to his door his runs out and tells them what a terrible childhood he had, they are so stupid they just keep coming back. I believe he must have told them that his father is a witless.

You did great. I don't think I could be that calm. We have a women from the hall that is stopping in where I work and giving one of the girls the magazines. I copied a few things from this web site and we put them in a envelope. The next time she comes in we are going to hand it to her and tell her to explain it. One is about 1975, then we have one on Beth Sarim, and then a couple of child abuse cases. Bet she won't come back.

Blood Issue took my mom last night
by rwagoner inafter years of fighting a physical disability that ended in kidney failure and several bouts of respiratory/cardiac arrestmy mom landed in the hospital last week.
the doc's said she needed heart surgery and kidney transplants but before they could operate they need to get her blood count back up.
it had fallen well below what her body could naturally restore on its own she she needed transfusions.

So very sorry for your loss. Your mom may have been able to live a long life. No one can know what you are feeling, until you have lost a parent. I will keep you in my prayers and by all means wear your uniform. Be proud of what you are and take good care of your son and wife, they to have lost a big part of their life.
