  as ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.

  this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.

  therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

  It is hard to address the issue when one does not know what the real issue is. Do I believe there are examples of pedophilia in the JW organization? You bet your bottom dollar. Do I think there are some 23,000 cases in the US alone? I don't know. I have not seen any compelling evidence that would lead me to believe that there are that many cases. True one instance of abuse is one too many. But I believe most JWs abhor pedophilia. And I am not about to jump on a sinking boat with Mr Bowen, who until now has preferred to use more rhetoric and half-truths than provide hard data, dear.

  :No, Jesus didn't swear, but He used some pretty strong language when He confronted the Pharisees. Didn't mince words at all.:

  Amen and amen! One does not have to swear to get her point across in strong terms.

  :The victims of the borg have waited for decades (in many cases) for the evil to be exposed and dealt with. The borg ignored them, and so the borg finally faces exposure.:

  j.r. brown, a national spokesman for the jehovah's witnesses, confirmed that the four had been called to the hearings, but he said the proceedings may focus on "sins" unrelated to public comments on sexual abuse.

  he provide no specifics.. now isn't that a pr move!.

  I am concerned when anyone begins to malign any organization like some here have maligned the JW organization. If there are serious cases of pedophilia going on among the Witnesses, these problems need to be addressed ASAP. But floating exaggerated numbers of child abuse or flat out and out lying about some matters is wrong.

  The early Christians had their share of problems too. There were sexual sins occurring in Thyatira and the elders there were wrongly permitting these sins to happen. Our resurrected Lord told those elders in no uncertain terms, he did:

  "Nevertheless, I do hold this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols."

  Revelation 2:20

  Our Lord further told those elders who were slacking that he gave that old prophetess time to repent but she was not willing. He then said that he was gonna throw her into a sickbed full of tribulations and horrors. I think Jesus gonna do the same thing today, dear. Leave things to my bridegroom and he will take care of you, hon.

  Suggestion re: Attacks on Bill Bowen

  it seems that we have many new aliases popping up right now.

  all posting attacks against bill bowen personally.. note they cannot argue the facts of abuse occuring but decide to go after one of the faces that represent the whole issue at hand, bill bowen.. it just goes to show how desperate some people become trying to protect their high control religion regardless the cost to children and adult children of past abuse.. i would like to suggest that we adopt the same advice our parent's gave us while growing up as dubs.

  just ignore the taunts, the insults.

  I just came here asking questions about Mr Bowen's motives. Since when do questions become attacks? Is that not the same thing that you accuse JWs of, dears?

  i often hear people here talk about the horrible jw willingness to die for blood transfusions.

  maybe jws are mistaken when it comes to the bt issue; maybe not.

  however i wonder if there is anything that is really worth dying for in this life.. for me, to live is christ and to die is gain.

  Have you never heard of the fall? God wanted all of his children to enjoy everlasting life in the beginning. However they pulled away from him and rejected the perfect start that he provided them with, dear. See Genesis 2 and 3. It is really quite elementary, sir.

  Nice way not to answer a question, funky. Biblical Christianity does not devalue this life. Read 1 Timothy 4:8. But Jesus taught his followers that he/she who tries to save his/her life will lose it. The present life is good. But it is not the be-all-and-end-all.

  why did he choose to handle his row with the witness organization in this way?

  Dear Celia,

  By wait on Jehovah--I do not mean that one should wait until death. Notice that I talked about working for positive change within the organization without undermining it. And if one really thinks that she can no longer be a JW and agree with the way things are done, one could also just leave. No one is forced to handle things the way that Mr Bowen has handled matters.
