  according to cnnmoney, so, will the elders receive some more new light from the almighty saying that they are going to reinstate the weekly book study after their new light announcement this summer saying it was being done away with due to the price of gas ?

  5 year low? Impress me...how about a 30 year low.....80 cents a gallon would be fine by me. Me and T Boone Pickens know that reducing oil demand is a big big deal... and the biggest factor is not your car, but the electric we consume

  We need to build some wind farms and turn-key package nukes though... most of the oil and gas goes to electric generation...we get a handle on that we are way ahead. Compressed Natural gas needs a boost too... thats not the total answer but we have a big reserve of NG and adapting it to fleet transportation is a big deal in energy reliance.

  I drive into little towns every place that have two things...Train tracks and train stations... but I never see a train and the stations are boarded up or flower shops.

  If Obama wants to impress me he will dump AMTRACK and reward the train lines for going back into the passenger business... a train system and revamp of airline hubs and routes would create a grand efficiency in energy use. I'd never use 'mass transit' but if the train was good enough for Granpa it's good enough for me.

  and damm i love to shop...even on black friday.

  i have a feeling it is just because i have never done it and it was forbidden...but so was sex once and i jumped all over that one!

  is it because i do not believe jesus was not god nor his son?

  i could take it or leave it...birthdays too. My wife never was and I dont think she fully understands why I am not into it.

  But then I never was a 'joiner...' even when we did Cristmas as a kid it was a lot of running around and someone in the family always had hurt feelings over something.

  I really wish I could be more normal.

  it was quite obvious that the dub didn't hear a word that was said about why they quit being a witness.

  401K, do you still have one?

  several years ago i considered starting one.

  didn't understand it at all.

  the hr dept where i work had closed and to start a 401k i had to do it online.

  401 Ks since the Reagan years. You cannot look at the balance daily... suicides happen over less.

  We have has a couple of bad market corrections over the years... you could see the value drop 1/3 or more in a bad week... but when it's low you get more units for the price paid. I will be tossing cash into mine while this market is down... worked the last several slow downs.

  Like many other investment products you only lose money if you cash out when value is low. All stock market products will make money if you stay in long enough.

  it's snowing outside, i'm still in bed cuz i was told to stay there and wait for something special by my eight year old son and i'm listening to npr ( tom jones is being interviewed).

  i wonder how long the snowing will last.

  you wont find perfect weather outside of maybe, So Cal... and the fires and mudslides cancel that out for me...plus all the people who beat me out there for the good weather.............

  Oklahoma and Texas,parts of AZ and New Mexico have short spikes of seasonal extremes...Arkansas and West Tennesse are about the same

  Depression or Recession?

  i went to jobs and family resources yesterday.

  the man i talked to said the country is not in a recession like the president said on december 1st.

  he said we are in a depression, much like 1947. he said things will continue like this for decades.

  yea...the Obama Nation...Cris Rock, Beyonce, Ludicris etc all on a nation wide WPA tour... Obama as the black FDR... I am looking forward to the ride. Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewert doing segments on substinece gardens for the inner city and near suburbs.

  Last Depression we had folks with manners... this time around it'll be more "Mad Max" than "brother can you spare a dime?"

  Like the last depression...if you can KEEP a job or hold on to the farm or business you might mop up at the end. I see some bargains in real estate coming if you dont starve in the meantime.

  finally got sentenced......he got it on 10 counts but all of the sentences are to run concurrently.

  he gets 15 years with the possibility of parole after 5 or 8 years........ he didn't look quite as smug as he did 14 years ago..........jackass..

  i have just realized what crap material items the witlesses live with.

  just now, i went through my place and marked the things that the witlesses stocked me up with at the time i moved in 1x years ago (more work, hounders, to figure out just when).

  and i found plenty of crap.. first, the "furniture" was flimsy wicker.

  I dont want to pile on here... but did it ever occur to you that a big percentage of JW's wouldnt be in the upper 25% income wise if the WERE NOT Jw's anyway?

  A gift is a gift... if folks were giving you stuff to get you "on your feet" count that as the blessing it was.
