an invitation to travel upto london on the 26th of february to meet prince charles at the opening ceremony of the bromley by bow centre at which lord peyton will also be in attendance.. really, really looking forward to it.
the invitation came through from the community action network, can't wait, wey heyyyyyyy!!.
Here's a question: Why does Charles (justifiably) take flak for cheating, but Diana doesn't get 1% of the flak for her same indiscretions? Even before her death, her unfaithfulness was excused because Charles was such a distant hubby.
My understanding (and I follow the royals as little as humanly possible) is that theirs was a political marriage, like almost every "royal" marriage in European history. So why is it that only he seems to get bashed for not loving her?

as i was expecting a visit from the local constabulary, for reasons noted below; the pole was a pleasant surprise.
the pole was a actually a jw, the plainest and longest man i had ever seen, with a mighty grin capable of felling empires and, i was to discover, also the possessor of a formidable intellect.

I missed this thread the first time around. Very powerful stuff. Teejay, that was some letter. If Alan has a "stronger" letter, i'm scared to see that one.
I thought msil made some terrific points. Legal-sounding letters are great, and will probably keep you from getting the boot--officially. But even if you convince them that DFing you is more trouble than it's worth, the result will most likely be a de facto disfellowshipping--you'll still be shunned.
If you want to avoid that, convince them that you're just weak. If you can generate some tears, good for you.
So what's been the result? Have you met with the elders since this meeting?

well, i've finally had it.
i'm da'ing myself, along with a piece of my fam.
the unbaptised ones are refusing to go with my father now, and even my still devout father is leaning towards our opinion on things.. there wasn't even any screaming when i called the jw's the great hypocrisy last nite.. i just can allow myself to be associated with them in any way.

How do you find a "good" therapist? And how do you convince someone to go see them, if you do find a good one?
One of the two big things stopping me from going public is my mother's depression. She is finally taking anti-depressants, but I think she would resist seeing a therapist because Jehovah's Witnesses are the "happiest people an earth," and there is a stigma attached to psychology.
Also, how much does a good therapist cost these days?

it was kind of fun yesterday when i was in line at the local coffee house.
a "sister" came up and stood in line right next to me.
now, my ex is df'd and i am probably "bad association", but technically they should not shun me because i never got dunked.
It's been my experience that "interested ones/studies" get treated better than 90% of the average JW population.
As long as you're studying, they'll love-bomb you. Once you've been dunked, and they can no longer count time speaking to you, then you're only as good as your last meeting.
