If all were JW's who would be killed by their god? I guess it would be the weak ones, after all the birds need to be fed.

.
what a bad world we would live in, if everbody was a jw, and would shun you for taking blood, for missing meetings, for becoming inactive, for marrying a person not spiritual enough, and so on so forth.. luckily there is only 1/1000 worldwide.. how would you picture this world if everybody was a jw?.

the recent developments out of canada are wonderful.
they go a long way towards exposing.
the real truth about what the watchtower society is:.
The more people that know these facts It's inevitable that there will be a decline in new recruits and a loss of existing members.
"scoflfaw subculture" This is a most appropriate title.

divorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.
probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.
possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.
If you have been divorced do you think that the Watchtower Society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?
All of the above.

Posted from a network, therefore the familiar IP.
ok. i'm really quite upset.
i am not disfellowshipped or disassociated.
the people in the local congregation know very little about my life nowadays.
It has made my blood boil that they are self righteously shunning me with NO basis.
I'm sure you realize the shunning will never and has never had any basis in good old dub land. Try not to let it linger, their not worth it.

many of us pioneered.
some here pioneered as "vacation", "temporary", "auxillary", "regular" or even "special" roles.
nearly everyone was expected to pioneer, if you were to stay in the good graces of the congregation.
What were your experiences in performing this life-saving work? Did pioneering make a difference in your life?
Never pioneered, never wanted to, always felt it was a waste of time. I would play the role by having the "pioneer spirit", remember that term? The only difference it made in my life was more imposed guilt.

come to think of it, being a "rat" can be rather hazardous for the person doing so.
be it a member of the wtbts, a browsing elder, a vindictive ex-member, or a person with no ties at all.. problem is, there could be some posters who don't take to kind to people messing in their personal and family life.
not saying there are such posters here or anywhere else, just pointing to a possible scenario.
Check out this link, this is what happens to some rats. http://www.deadrat.net/

where is the love that the societyclaims is amongst it's people?
i began studying january 2001. i had met a jw man that i truly fell in love with and found that i would at least look into the religion to see if it was for me.
i began studying with his sister, till she consciously no longer felt that she could continue studying with me, due to the fact that she did not approve of her brother dating me, since i was not a jw.
Jacqueline;
Your observations are amazingly familiar to many here. When a genuine caring person is newly studying you must tone down your real feelings and play their game or the JWs become jealous you may get more attention then them. This can be worked by them from two angles, one their jealousy, and the other you cant appear to be looking for attention. As infantile as that may seem it is some insight into the JW mindset.
Another possibility is the letter that followed you to the new congregation can set the mood for the reception you received. All details of any nuance of your life the sending elders felt could help the new congregation council you would be in the letter. Word of this spreads fast because you pose no legal threat to them such as a pedophile would, and we know they keep that quiet.
Welcome to the discussion group, stay around and observe. Be patient with your husband if hes been in a long time it could take longer to adjust to being lied to for such a long time.

the last couple of weeks, the newspapers have been reporting that malawi is dealing with a huge problem---vampires!
citizens are charging that the government is colluding with vampires to collect human blood for international aid agencies in exchange for food..........your comments, please.
Minimus;
The WT mentality is horrific to think about. They convert some people (Malawians) with very little education and tell them the future will be great and you can live forever. Also they are told you will be killed if you do not obey their god. Then the WT waves this pitiful example in fellow dubs faces as an example to follow unto death because of persecution endured there. This was over a political card the WT made their own rules to follow and made their adherents refuse to buy the card.
Now we find years later that some of the population of will kill because of belief in vampires. It becomes obvious the WT tactics used are deceptive in such matters and the demographics are never considered when WT articles are written. This is extremely discrediting to the WT, however most dubs will never know any better.

just out of curiousity,.
but since you now know the troof and are out.. how many ex-elders have hunted down members that have personally brought them to the so called "truth" and apologized for misleading them into a false religion and knows now it is a cult?.
if any had done so, what were their reactions?.
Yizumin;
Yes I have and happy to say some are now out.

do you think that you will see your dear loved ones come back to life in a ressurection of some sort or do you think there is no hope of such a thing?

>" Hi Ho, I don't think that control is the issue with this one. I'm not referring to Watchtower control. If you believe in God, which I do, then there would be the ultimate issue of God bringing us back to life. How or where this is done, I don't know." <
I think we went around on this issue before, who's interpretation of God does one follow? If it's from your own reading, study and insight and you believe it, than all is fine for you. I will always be careful what I believe after finding out the WT is a scam and a lie. Again, if one follows another rendition of god: inspired, directed, radiated through the air, however one gets the information, it's listeners, followers, adherents will always be subject to control of the one dispensing the information, to conform in order to be saved by the supposed giver (god) of the information.
