The remaining faithful rank and file members will follow their leaders into the oven. Many that have doubts are trapped inside the cult grip. The social seen among them is full of lies because of mistrust between members. Fear of gossip is rampant, fear of elders, fear of disfellowshipping, fear of circuit overseers visits etc. "FEAR FEAR FEAR" is all that many go on. They will claim it's fear of displeasing God that keeps them in line, however the WT god will kill you at the drop of a hat and think nothing of it. Why is the supposed eternal death, at the hands of the WT god such a frightening thing? Is the WT god going to keep you conscious to torment you in some way as the thought in other religions? (ex. Hellfire) Just what is the consequence if one does not measure up? We know the answer if we ever were a Jehovah's Witness, DEATH. I can remember it stated that "we are not a religion but a way of life", "we are life oriented not death oriented" . The latter being said because they promise to show you the way to everlasting life. The unwritten rule among Jehovah's Witnesses is you must live an austere life style to please God, or at least appear to do so. Is that really necessary? I can't speak for the WT god or any other God for that matter so I suppose we should listen to the GB ? They claim to speak for their god so we should all listen to them just because they make the claim? That is what the rank and file members do, blindly, listen by putting faith in men. Between 10 to 15 men of the GB and a bunch of lawyers to run interference for the mistakes so they can hang on to the power they have. Well the power is fading and it's about time, although slow, I can say it's evident as many JW's I speak with will secretly voice an opposing idea.
Then the reason I consider it important that the WT lose it's power is a question I can not always answer. One must have been a member to fully understand the firm grip, the suffocating hold they have on you to keep you there. When does one come to realize their are problems with the WT religion? It's deferent for each individual, that nagging feeling, that uncertainty, the doubts, the injustice, the boredom, the monotony... something will trigger and put up a red flag. It's time to get out, and out is a whole new life. So don't be afraid of the big organization, it's not that big, don't be afraid of displeasing the WT god, the GB DOES NOT represent any God and never did.
