When did this term become popular? Is it regional or throughout the U.S.? Is it from an article in one of the publications? I assume it applies to those between 13 and 21? I personallly don't like the term. It is very cultish sounding. Sort of Amish sounding or like a term used in a movie, can't remember the name right now.

I did it once or twice in the mid-west during the 1960's. The WORST for me was New Year's Day. How could you knock on someone's door after a night of partying! Such an invasion of privacy.

Today I went to the Doctor with Barbie Doll.
by PEC inin the waiting area, there were two awake trashazines, i promptly deposited them in the nearest trash can.
there are patients in the waiting area, so i couldn't shred them, without making a seen.. last time we were there, there was an awake in the lab waiting area.
it's very important; that, if you see any of this trash, laying around anywhere, deposit it in the nearest trash can.

Counseled by elders for body odor
by rebel8 init's amazing how the congregation i was in promoted passive-aggressive behavior.
whenever you saw someone behaving inappropriately, you were supposed to run to the elders to tattle.
in some cases these were things that were none of our business or should have been handled privately.. there was a pioneertm who was having personal problems of some sort.

This can be a problem especially for those who are very overweight. I knew a young brother who was in excess of 300 plus pounds. His odor was gross, yet some of the kind and "elderly" sisters took him in service. His weight broke down their seats in their cars. Never knew what happened to him, though. Strange how his odor was left behind in the cars! Or is it, once an odor gets into your nostrils, it takes a while for it to diffuse?

JW's unwritten dress code and personal appearance standards-FROM WHERE?
by Thechickennest inone thing that always use to puzzle me was the personal appearance standards, espessially for meetings and service.
the men always were expected to where a tie, suit, jacket, etc.
no beards were allowed-mustaches were ok!

The white shirts may confuse people -- they may think JWs are actually Morman "Elders" -- in our area, the Morman elders no longer ride bikes, they drive cars.
This is no lie - today I saw a sheep being led down a street in a collar much like a dog. I was in an area that has lots of farm animals and 4H kids. It made me think about how the sheep follow. Remember Dolly the cloned sheep? Well, all those in the "dress code" are clones.

My three grandkids went for one year to the JW school in Long Beach, Calif. It has since closed. I believe they received a substandard education, no homework, very short shool days, like 3 hrs. total. Also, very odd. Lots of gossip and cliques with the girls...very "untheocratic" behavior. Kids did not look any different from the "worldly" kids in a regular school. No dress code. Way too many days off. I could go on and on.
