2010 memorial partakers?

not sure if this was previously posted...but how many partakers were there this year?

thoughts on if they are headed to making this number symbolic while still stressing earthly hope?

or simply leaving it as a literal number and claiming both groups gathered concurrently throughout time?

they tell us that somone who is partaking for the first year is not counted.... they have to pull that person aside and find out their reasonings..especially if they know the person, and hadn't partaken previously ---that being so...how come the numbers have been going up steadily yet the society says they are decreasing??

There was a person in our hall who had been a pub for years and then, bango, took the emblems for the first time -- they did not count it on the report that was sent to the society for tracking purposes...said the person was tending towards apostasy

Well IMHO our race is doing it to themselves now anyway -- abortions, reduced birth rates will give the Muslim folks control of the world within 20 years as they are having 8 children per household on average vs 1.3 of the "christian" households.. so the Builderburgs won't have a leg to stand on.... the Muslims would not allow it

Do you think your baptism is still valid?

i got baptised about 25 years ago and was told the new system would be here by now.. along with a lot of other false promises.. so the answer for me would be no!!

I really don't know -- now the new baptismal question ignores "baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit" so when I was baptized, it was included -- does'nt the holy spirit need to be in the questions asked now -- Matt 28:19.20 and as I am still in, do I just comply with this erroneous question to be answered with a "yes" ??

So maybe my baptism is not valid now....

i just thought that i would share an observation regarding par 3 of this weeks wt study.

the paragraph says in part " jehovah's witnesses find genuine refreshment through up building christian fellowship".. .

i am wondering if any readers / posters on this forum that still do or used to attend meetings have any thoughts on this.

I sit there and say -- again -- we have heard this over and over --but isn't that the reason for the repetition -- indocrination -- many dictators used the same rhetoric

Now I fully am well aware, there is no new information they can garner -- just revise what they have and throw the masses into utter confusion and then utter the words -- new light -- new understanding -- well Jehovah/YHWH doesn't change -- His word hasn't changed, it still has the same message -- so why cant the FDS just leave well enough alone, take the hit and say "WE DON"T KNOW!"

Sometimes I think it would be like a breath of fresh air -- there are so many issues in the congregations today - I dont really think the older elders are up to it and they are not getting anyone to take up the reins of power..

Right now, I know of 4 gone - da'd -- maybe another 3 and three JC's going on in just my one cong...

and all of them long time pubs...

while being reinstated several months ago -- no restriction were given other than no commenting - service was allowed - getting over the average for the cong, not missing meetings - its been months now and the brother met recently with someof the jc members - they praised his hours and meeting attendance but because his lessons are not completely underlined, and he does make notes during the meeting, he has not been allowed to still make comments and become a fully active member of the congregation as they say this note taking is causing a problem with other members of the congregation.. have you even heard of anything so off the wall?

is this the way its done in most cong??

he thought if someone was interested enough to listen and make notes of a good point in their mags, it would be something to be referred to in the future... i know i have seen folks doing this while the lesson is being read.... .

Just got back on since last night and I want to thank you all for your input - come to think of it, I have heard of folks who did not have their WT done -- however, does everyone who studies underline their lessons -- they may have read it but dont want to underline -- again, this is so off the wall, and yes, I have heard it mentioned that if the wife is not making enough comments he will not make MS or elder... that is right

You hit the nail on the head with that comment -he is feeling so down now - worked so hard to get back, went thru hell and now this from the loving, kind, epathetic (pathetic) brothers who are to follow Christ's example -- he is ready to move to another cong.. and that would be so sad.. yet I believe he would still have to deal with the elders in this cong before receiving all priviledges back.. and would they smear him there?? I think I would call for another committee to handle the situation, if they were to intefer - or does that have to be done only after dis f??

recently, i've been seeing this argument displayed here more frequently by those still believing jw's.. usually in reply to arguments they can not answer well, like 1914, generation(s), etc.... its almost like, they are are having serious doubts as well, but their fall back is, "but its god organization....where else would you go......don't leave, we are so close to the end".

as one recently shared their experience with a jc.

the elders, when feeling trapped on explanations, fell back to this defense.

I am in but now question most statements from the platform,be it at the hall or assembly -- I do not discuss anything with anyone anymore - cause I dont know who is going to run to the elders -- shame, isnt it? But as the society says family study -- that to me means research - everything and prayer for guidance, so now I find something that doesnt make sense with the society and since the Wt said the GB and elders and MS are no wiser or anointed with holy spirit than us low rung pubs, I believe in my heart what I think the spirit has told me to believe... I go for the fact I have always loved the Bible, even before the JW's - I guess its just a comfort zone until my feathers get ruffled and then ------
