A slight of the hand trick... again and again.... no one will pick up these references... I have sat in so many meetings where I have studied the lesson and made note of what should be commented on as a very important point and it's not even mentioned.. they read from the paragraph now, no thought, no insight, just parroting the words.. once in a while an ex elder or person on disability who has time to research will give a deep though provoking answer and it is so refreshing... otherwise, your talking to the choir -- no real personal perspectives anymore -if you do you are pointed out as being" something wrong with their comments"!!

Why is this authorized to the media by jwnews.net? Are they allowing this type of inflammatory information to get to the public now? Wouldn't they think the ones at the door would tell the pubs to get off the doorstep....

I am pleased this is happening.... no longer should they be able to hide this disgusting practise of allowing those they know to be perverts to go d2d, there should be severe restrictions on anyone, male or female, who has committed crimes against children.. only God can judge these ones in the next life, this life must be protected against sexual pedos- just because they did not speak of it in the bible should not be viewed as of no consequence... and the two/three witness application is a terrible misuse of God's intention in a crime such as this... maybe if it happened to elder's children or ms's children there would be something done about it........

It's all swept under the rug, like everything else, no one mentions it anymore..there has to be more visibility, more news releases, why won't someone go straight to trial and not be paid off and sign a confidentiality clause to keep it under wraps???

It is so frustrating.. it seems like the congregations are settled down to believing the apostates and news media are in cahoots, trying to destroy WTBT$...everything is ignored..... something has to happen to bring the pubs to their senses..

A law should be passed to have everyone who mentors children in any format has to have a criminal records check and never be alone with a child, whether or not having a criminal past....

that goes for daycare, bible schools, JC's, scouts, girl guides, bible students studies.. etc.. if they know they won't pass the check, it may cut down on abuse

evidently, since we are so close to end of this system of things, god has seen it fitting to fill the final spots held open for the 144,000.. there.

simple, elegant, and doesn't require an overhaul of the 144,000 jw belief..

If GB2 is saying that some may be mentally ill, doesn't that call into question their mental status?? or some of them?? I think I would be careful of what is being said - pot calling the kettle black.. after all, they are all "new" to the position up there and some just came in a few years ago, who is to say what pecularities they are imparting to the writing committee??

Anyway - not just anyone is supposed to partake - the elders should know their flock-- I personally have seen one's partake but was told they were not counted as there were issues - now if all elders are doing the same, it seems like only those in the congregation, known to be "spiritual" would be the ones partaking.... but the number keeps rising.. the talk on apostates yesterday said that the ones who were apostate were among "us" and were divisive in nature -drawing unspecting ones away..however, then the talk switched to those who wanted to be elders - what was their conviction? were they prideful? Intent on causing division-- hence apostate??? Little off topic but it all fell together in the apostate talk..

while looking at the data protection act in the uk, it jogged my memory to our own privacy act legislation.

i do not know it in full but my questions would be: can the society really keep records on the pubs in canada now?

is that breaking the law?

In Canada, you have to sign a release if you go to a dentist or doctor,etc... I suppose if I go to the government web site I could find more, I just didn't know if someone knew right away without me going thru all the legalities.. several years ago the elders did have to deal with the Privacy Act for a sister in the hospital...

Last year I spoke with an Indian sister who was visiting and I asked her what the situation was in India for the preaching work.. she shook her heard said it was very dangerous in the Southern part...

I do know that if you go to Forum 18 you will see quite a few christian denominations are being attacked with impunity there and around the world..there are roving gangs who want christian religious beliefs gone from India.

Also in a lot of countries, state controlled, even the muslims are being put in prison, along with Ba'hai, Baptist, etc.

While looking at the Data Protection Act in the UK, it jogged my memory to our own Privacy Act legislation. I do not know it in full but my questions would be: Can the society really keep records on the pubs in Canada now? Is that breaking the law? and Can they discuss any matter relating to pubs at their own JC meetings? passing on this personal information to Bethel?

I have never signed a pub card..

Is there anyone on the board who knows about any of this? Are the elders breaking the law?

Are JW EX elders in need of our contempt or sympathy ?

point 1. not so long i would have strung them all up and hanged them.. point 2. these guys were the real succers, not only did they become jw,s, they embraced and adopted the cults teachings, and to some extent subjugated thier familys happiness, and thier own,to elevate themselves, and achieve status and recieve privellages, ie not have a f-----g life.

point 3 they had the onerus task of making sense, of the ever changing (truths) and having to teach that crap to the rest of us, and cope with the subsequent questionings that would invariably follow.. point 4.they had to take the lead in (sales) distributing literature.

point 5.they were the authoritarian face of the society, and a lot of people, (myself included ) thought they were jumped up janitors and window cleaners with a chip on thier shoulders.

I believe a little of both if they are honest hearted, contempt-- which is a strong word unless they are reall a$$e$.. - maybe just desserts would be appropriate--- because they may have destroyed lives while in service to the congregation but sympathy because they have lost their faith and their lives due to the overbearing remaining good standing elders who can pounce on them and harrass them - driving them out of the hall - and all because they may have asked a question that others can perceive as being wrong thinking or leaning towards apostasy.

I know of one elder who has stepped down from the RBC and said he would never go back... another who has been on the hit list by elders in his congregation because he has a heart - even his friend - the PO or CoBoE would not stand up for him while 2 others blindsided him at all meetings - both have re thought their positions and are ready to step down and even talk of leaving the truth as they don't feel it is the truth any longer... some still go through hell just to remain a witness because somewhere they still believe ....knowing what their life would be without the cong and in a lot of instances, their families...
